If these guys get fired, who might the Lions try to get for their spot???

I'll tell you this, if the NFL says "Let us help you find a suitable replacement," SAY YES! Don't go blow your load in 2 days and bring up the next Mayhew.

And don't listen to Tony Dungy.

Wait, did I miss something when Millen was fired??? Did the NFL actually offer help, or is this just an off the cuff type post where you are hoping an outside entity will help the Lions? Ya got me all crossed up on this one cuz I can actually envision the Lions turning down help like that.

To the best of my knowledge bud, we have not fired Mayhew.

And we did turn down that help. After we fired "The Beast That Shall Not Be Named".

The NFL stepped in and offered to help the Lions find a suitable replacement with an actual GM background. The Lions promoted Mayhew and Lewand instead.

I know they haven't been fired yet, I'm just curious who people would like to take over if/when that happens.

I either have forgotten that the NFL offered them help or never heard it the first time around. That is just SOOOOO Lions, no wonder they can't win consistently.

Yep, instead of getting good advice from people who want to see the team succeed.. because more good teams drives revenue... we promoted people who helped steer us to an 0-16 season and somehow thought that was a good idea.

I won't argue with anyone whether or not it worked out, everyone has their opinions, but regardless of the outcome, it was a stupid fucking plan when we did it.

I say we get either Michael Strahan, Deion Sanders or Howie Long. All great players that now show their football knowledge on tv.

I don't want him since he's been out of the game so long, but he got a really raw deal here.

Well it looks like he is trying to save his job. If it turns out like his last two deadline trades he will be gone. The first deadline trade is the reason he is the gm though.

I think he is actually more optimistic/blinded by false hope than LKP has ever been.

Keanu, don't look so surprised. We've know his secret identity for years.

No way. Even LKP has started calling out Mayhew. Up until then it had promise, but LKP is fully onboard the fire Mayhew train...or so it seems. I guess if the Lions actually go and win 4 or 5 games from here out he will be back on board riding the Mayhew train and stoking the fires.

I want Mayhew here and I want Stafford here 10 more years. Just start winning.

It is possible Mayhew gets fired though. If they only win like 4 more or less

Do you pay Calvin $24 million dollars next year on a team in full rebuild, Martin?
