I don't expect anything from him. With mayhews track record I'd be surprised if he made the team. He's not the 1 2 or 3 or 4 if they keep bartell. He's in a battle with jonte for the 5th corner....which is why its dumb were even talking about it.

Its good we are talking about it. I cant remember this team ever having this much depth at CB. The kid is a good athlete that can help on special teams and possibly work into a rotational guy in the secondary but you want to pout and hissy fit because you hate the idea that Mayhew might have found some ball players. You need athletes all over the field they open up new scheme possibilities but its more important that you be "right" then our team be good.

And quit calling guys who didn't play 1st year "essentially rookies", zyx. Just watching tape, and in meetings and practice with the pro's is much more than a true rookie gets..

With how frequently DBs are injured on every team, he will potentially be a starter in at least one game this year, so perhaps it is reasonable to have hope that this years bandaid fixes have more talent than previous years.

That's fair, but there is also a difference between not doing jack when playing versus not doing jack due to injury/becoming familiar with the next level.
