Why is Pedroia's name even brought up...

Take grandy off yankees and yankees are fine. Take cabby off Tigers and Tigers are 3rd place. That's how u determine mvp

I know "smiting" is a little childish, but using "Cabby" to refer to "Miggy" is as good a reason as any to smite. 2 offenders in this thread.

You're kidding me right. What do you think his teammates call him. I'll give you one guess and one hint, its not Miggy.

Thats the definition of MVP? People have been debating for years what it actually means. Given your definition, Shouldnt your boy JV be MVP? Says nothing about pitchers being ineligible bc of their position....

Miggy = great hitter

Cabby = smelly guy with a turban who sits on a beaded seat cushion and takes me to the airport.

If you think the Yankees are fine without Granderson....you're more fucked in the head than I thought.

Mitch is right... Nobody calls him Miggy... Watch an FSN telecast. The announcers, coaches, and his teammates all call him Cabby...

Year sure kid. Tell that to his teammates who call him Cabs or Cabby.

roflmao.

I don't care what anyone here or his team mates call him. Miguel, Miggy, Cabrera, Cabs, Cabby, Migs, Just keep hitting.

fwiw, I usually call him Cabrera or Miguel/Miggy.

Serious question, how do you know what his teammates call him?

I don't usually watch any of the post game interviews, so maybe I've missed it, but I've never heard anyone other than Rod and Mario call him Cabby.

Maybe if you replace him with a black hole.

But if you replace with him a league average 1B, the Tigers would pretty clearly still be in 1st.

It would certainly be a close race, but Cabrera hasn't been responsible for 10 wins.

MVP is whatever the voter decides in a given year....

Interviews. I hear Cabs the most.

Really? How did the Yankees do last year in Granderson's mediocre year?

Well.. you have to replace him with someone on your team currently. So how would the Tigers be platooning Kelly and Martinez at first? How many less intentional walks are there and RBIs? If you lost Cabby in the first game of the season, you aren't just miracously getting a league average 1st basemen.

I'd be willing to bet that the Tigers lose more than ten games without his glove, bat, and his intentional walks.

Verlander deserves CY Young. I don't believe pitchers should get MVP. I'm old school. Pitchers don't appear in many games and if ANY team's #1 starter wasn't on the team, all those teams are fucked.

What a stupid argument.

That only makes any sense if every player from last year plays and has the exact same year as last year.

Granderson leads the league in runs scored, and RBI's, a large portion of why the Yankees have the record they have, take away his numbers and they might be 4th.

God damn, you are infuriatingly stupid sometimes.

Okay you had me until you said without him, they'd be fourth. Whens the last time the Yankees finished 4th.
