Wide spread election fraud 2020

But again - just because evidence of voter fraud hasn?t emerged - at least in Senator Burr?s opinion - doesn?t mean that it doesn?t exist.

That?s why it?s so important that the Vice President remains authorized/empowered to overturn election results at the behest of any seated/defeated president.

Is this Burr guy any relation to Aaron Burr?
Sure, but there's more to how I got on this topic. The idea was that if I suggest campaign finance reform, we should worry about voter fraud instead.

I'm not going to sign up to try to prove this negative, but these Republican Senators have more motive and access to people that would be familiar with investigations effort than any amount of googling I could produce anyway.

And YES, Richard Burr is a distant relation, though not a direct descendant, of Aaron Burr.

Vice President Al Gore was an idiot to not push for this strategy in 2000.

Mitch McConnell is reconvening the certification process in the Senate. He kinda seems choked up.

Only...the seated president, Bill Clinton, was ineligible to run. Termed out.

He could have declared himself president, I guess, but that would have been a dangerous precedent.

See, here’s the the thing...Trump thinks he can hardball a negotiation to subvert the Constitution in the same way he can hardball a third world manufacturer that produces cheap building material using slave labor to renegotiate the price AFTER the order has been filled before it’s been paid for.

I ain’t never said Trump should go to jail on this board before.

I’m sayin’ it now.

Oh, for the love of God... I guess we gotta go through every motherfuckin slate from every motherfuckin state, whether there was a challenge or not...Jesus fuckin’ Christ...

So... the election is certified...and now some motherfucker is babbling some shit to almighty god, or some such fuckin’ thing...

I will say that Ted Cruz, who seemed to be leading the charge on this charade, kinda disappeared, after...ya know...the coup attempt (not completely sarcastic/hyperbolic) and shit...not that great of a look for Cruz...Pence performed pretty statesmanlike...maybe he should lead the Republican Party...

Pence must've been pissed. Trump/Cruz/etc put him in a really shitty position with the MAGA cult shouting 'hang Mike Pence' and storming the Capitol.

this entire thing sickens me.

After 4 years of posting the same thing over and over, Bob might be right. "Trump will go down as the worst President of all time"

I guess now the argument will be trying equate strings of Trump quotes to get "Who will disrupt this meddlesome Congress" -vs- pinning blame on a small number of spontaneous bad actors.

But there are 3 camps. Dems in 1 group making the "meddlesome" argument, Trump loyalists in group 2, and the 3rd group would be Republican that see this as their opportunity to distance themselves from Trump after 4 years on his side.

Well, anyone who knows anything knows that god - the Christian god - came down from the heavens to give us our rights in 1775, and the American revolution was a holy war, against Great Britain, who is now our closest ally and our media (and government) loves to present the royal family to Americans to help us get used to the idea of having a king and queen.

The camps aren't that far apart. This gave the Trump loyalists in the house and senate a chance to rhetorically separate themselves from Trump and come back into the fold. With canned statements like "While I still think there was election fraud, I have to condemn violence and so I'm now going along with certifying.." And the Republicans in Camp 3 have been more or less just waiting for this all along.

I dunno... I listened to most of the speeches last night and the whole thing seemed pretty choreographed to me.

From reading a more non-partisan account that cited other police on the topic of crowd control, who noted that the DC police obviously sandbagged their efforts here, and if they really wanted to keep protestors out of the capitol, they would have. and other people that had ACTUALLY protested in DC, contrasting their treatment in prior protests - like those opposing wars, or for medicare for all - with the way the capitol police beat the shit out of them but seemed to handle the Trump crowd with kid gloves. And that emboldened them and let them take it too far.

Much like the Michigan state police didn't bring out the water cannons on the "reopen Michigan" idiots earlier in the year.

That being said... I think some people took things too far... even choreographed mobs can get out of control. This was evidenced by the fact that someone apparently got shot and killed. ( Of course, a little bit of violence helps it appear legit)

I guess 4 people died; one woman shot by the cops, and 3 others in "separate medical emergencies."

Heart attacks? Forgot their insulin at home? Don't go to protests if you're late middled aged and unhealthily obese...

Embarrassing.

only 52 arrests. not much of an "insurrection," "coup," or even "protest."

in actual protests, they round people up by the hundred and leave them sitting their zip tied for hours.
