Wide spread election fraud 2020

He did not. I’m pretty sure orthodox Jews don’t do the whole death penalty thing though.

really? aren't sinners getting killed on just about every page in the old testament? sometimes entire tribes getting wiped out...God in the old testament was a vengeful God.

probably something Romney would have said if Trump didn't say it first - you know because private equity people are assholes who shouldn't hold public office. I think it's a loose translation of a quote from one of Hitler's speeches. And no doubt it was directed primarily at the white supremacists in the crowd, just like the "very fine people" comment.

Is that the speech he made when he was addressing rioting supporters after he had been voted out of office?

Hitler didn’t give a speech when he left office. He poisoned and then shot some look-alike in the head and took off to Argentina where he started an online training program for American conservatives. So I admit it’s not a perfect analog but it’s still relevant enough to make the point that Romney and Trump are basically Hitler - and quite possibly received their training directly from him.

I just ran an errand and listened to NPR and was astounded at how stupid you can be and still get on the air. The first "expert" was saying that the Capitol police should be investigated for their complicity in what happened yesterday because they basically did nothing, letting it all happen because white supremacy groups have infiltrated police forces all across America and we haven't rooted them out yet. The next guy came on and said we know the response would be much different if it were black and brown people infiltrating the capital - I guess that guy missed the fact that cops basically did nothing while BLM protestors mostly peacefully destroyed major American cities all over the country. Not only was there no push back, but the hosts were basically in full agreement.

While I would like more context on the video I'm linking below, it's not hard to see why people would come to this conclusion.

Imagine if there were multiple video evidence examples this good of voter fraud. Might have gotten a bit more traction in the courts I imagine.

Rats fleeing the sinking ship. Too little, too late imo.

U.S. transport, education secretaries quit after Capitol violence

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos resigned on Thursday, joining a list of officials quitting President Donald Trump’s administration in protest at the storming of the U.S. Capitol by his supporters.Chao, the wife of Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, said in an email to staff that the mob attack “has deeply troubled me in a way that I simply cannot set aside.” She said her resignation will take effect on Monday.

In a letter to Trump, DeVos said the attack on the Capitol was unconscionable. “There is no mistaking the impact your rhetoric had on the situation, and it is the inflection point for me,” she wrote, adding her resignation would be effective Friday.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on DeVos’s resignation.

DeVos lasted almost all 4 years because both parties in DC want to see public education screwed up and trashed.

The entire concept of public education was ever "screwed up and trashed" since its "reform" in the early 20th century. It's conditionally designed to cultivate obedience and compliance.

Not a fan of DeVos, but I also don't know how to fix higher ed inflation issues. The more it's subsidized the higher the prices would go. Market pressure on individuals does nothing to promote good decisions regarding how much people borrow and what they study. You can push until some academic fields pay almost nothing and profs's teaching contracts are low salary part time gigs so they live near poverty and students will keep flooding into those majors.

I'm not super aware of the circumstances, but my impression is DeVos in charge of education was some of the worst regulatory capture you could picture. Like if you tried to pick a worst-case candidate for the job, you couldn't do much better.

I've read some analysis of this, and it looks like at least much of the bloat went to adding an extra "administrative" layer to everything in college. An "assistant dean for diversity" and an "assistant dean for campus activities" etc. all of whom are MBAs, not PhDs. Some of the posts called the phenomenon business schools colonizing education... taking it away from academics and giving it to administrators. much like they've colonized healthcare now, and taken it away from actual doctors.

Not sure how to fight it off.

They've tried to do this to the legal profession too, arguing non-lawyers should be able to be partners/owners of law firms. The people pushing that got clobbered so they've started making in-roads in "litigation finance"... funding the costs of lawsuits. That appears to be working better for them.

Everything has to be FOR PROFIT! and the best way to profit of course is to eliminate competition and monopolize the market, while loudly denying you're doing that.

That's been consistent for more than 50% of all picks the prior 2 presidents made. Trump/DeVos weren't that out of line.

obama picked Arne Duncan, the slimy charter-school industry pusher. DeVos might have been a little less eloquent, but I don't see much day light between the two picks.

seems it was still pretty good through the 60's/70's, no?

Now it's only good if you live in the right districts.

We sat in straight rows like we were sewing garments. Conditioned by the bell. Compulsory attendance and curriculum. Learned in 55-minute increments. 35+ classroom sizes. Taught as am aggregate mind. 20-minute lunch. Took tests and forgot what much of what we learned to make room for the next batch of content. Moved through halls in three-minute bursts to get from class to class.

Assimilation even then was expected. Hair, clothes, speech, music, cliques, jocks, burnouts, greasers, hoods, eggheads (term for nerds). Other schools? Sworn enemies. We were processed like sausage and pushed into casings.

So, in even the "right" districts, has that changed?

I think we saw a strong analogy when Dave Brandon was AD. Tons of money getting pumped into new layers of management.

After seeing that, I have no doubt the Capitol Police are under white supremacist control. This is so different from police standing down and doing nothing while cities across America burned. This is the evidence that makes it easy to see cops are racist.

And it is definitely better than the video evidence of potential voter fraud in Georgia where after declaring counting closed for the night, Dem election officials pulled cases of ballots from under a table cloth and counted them after all observers had left. If you forgot that a GA election official reviewed the tape with reporter and told us all that this is standard procedure, you know, adding context, one might be able to see why people were suspicious of that video.

Well, I kinda feel like experience has shown that attendance needs to be compulsory, no?

We no longer had greasers or hoods in 90's. Eggheads were just nerds, I guess. Instead there were potheads, goths, skaters, and at richer schools, the pill popping/coked up crowd.

We still viewed other schools as sworn enemies though.

I wish there were still greasers... those guys would've been WAY cooler than goths or skaters.

Potheads were pretty cool though:

Did you have "theatre" kids? Those creeps annoyed me.

Dave Brandon: "There's only one 'Michigan Football' in the market. Why haven't you pushed ticket prices to the stratosphere?"

Old Timer in the Ath Dept: "Well, we've kinda viewed this as a family... and our fans are part of that. We already have higher ticket prices than other schools in the state, but we don't want to alienate our fanbase."

Dave Brandon: "HEY, MOTHER JONES... THIS IS BUSINESS. OPEN YOUR WALLET OR GET LOST. And get a marketing guy to start selling ads... I see this big fucking stadium with plenty of virgin ad space. I WANT ADS there."

Old Timer: *visibly flustered* "Gosh, Dave, this isn't a for-profit venture. Where do we put all that extra money? Scholarships? The general operating fund?"

Dave Brandon: "Ha. You crack me up. I got plenty of MBA buddies who need jobs --> that means MORE VPs. And they have kids... MORE Directors of Marketing, MORE Social Media Managers, and Directors of "Student Engagement." Also: you're fired. Tell em I'm 'streamlining operations' on your way out."

Why? Kids aren't naturally curious?

Drama Queens, we called them. Some were more dramatic than others. Never went to a single school play.

I'm thinking Scott Pruitt as head of the EPA is probably as bad if not much, much worse.
