I'd take Brown over Young, the Lions lack of pass rush isn't the edge guys it's the inside guys and the scheme of only rushing 3 half the time. Brown would be a better fit for what these clowns are running.

Versatile defensive playmaker...Isaiah Simmons MLB

I'm not 100% convinced that Washington will take Young. He will be the best player on the board. But they already have Kerrigan and Sweat at OLB. They have a bigger need at OT. I know it is small but I think we still have a shot at Young.

We are in a very similar position to SF last year. They added a good pass rush and their record turned around. We just hung around with the #2 seed in the NFC with our 3rd string.

We are not far away.

This is the attitude that keeps Lions' fans coming back for more punishment every year.

We are not even close to SF. They have playmakers at damn near every offensive position, great coaching, and an elite defense.

The Lions have a couple playmakers and one of, if not the worst defense in the NFL along with a shit coaching staff.

They are far away.

The offense is basically there. Barring Marvin Jones decline next year. But with hockenson being a second year tight end it should be a huge growth. I don?t care what anyone says and these dumbasses will probably waste it but this years draft class is loaded with running backs. We need another good one to run with kerryon. But we will probably just use a small example of Scarborough and roll with that instead because Quinn and Patricia love bargain bin players. But on defense we could be okay in the secondary with improvement from walker and Harris at safety. All depends on how they develop. Even oruwariye looks to have some potential to be a pretty good number 2 next year. The front seven is trash. All of our linebackers are complete trash except for Devon kennard, and even he is just solid. The entire d-line is trash besides tre flowers who once again is just a solid player. (Dunno about how good Dashawn hand is but I?m not willing to put all my eggs in that basket.) We need to fix that entire area of our team before we can consider being anything relevant.

so because he didn't have a sack you think he was taken out of the game?

That does not raise a red flag for me. Is he a sure fire HOF...of course not...there is no such thing in the NFL draft. But, if he is there at 3 there will be a lot of teams that will want to trade up to get him.

I know one thing for sure...if the Lions trade back and he's on the board....he WILL turn out to be a HOF player! ;)

Haha 100% certainty on that last part

I agree. Now that they have a new head coach I don't think it's a foregone conclusion the Redskins would take Young. However they're in a fantastic position to trade down and someone else scoops him up.

I would feel much better about Hockenson's near future, had his first game @ Cards been instead his last game before season-ending injury. After that game it was like he regressed from a first year pro to a clueless college freshman. I think that IF he pans out, it will begin to happen late in his second season and he will bloom in his third season.

This franchise has been so incredibly lucky that Stafford has been as durable as he has been. You can see other teams around the NFL still keep their head above water and compete with backup QBS; if Stafford misses any time again, this team is f'ed.

If they had a good defense, they could mitigate some of that; however, they are SO far away with that.

Outside of one great game, Hockensen was non-existent. Yeah, he got hurt, but when he was healthy, dude did not do anything. Saying he will be better because it is year 2 is just a complete guess; we have no idea if he's any good.

Its messed either way. 3-4-1 with him.

You?re right anything is a complete guess as any player could fall off or rise up. Idk his injury situation as that will have an impact but I think he will based on the fact that he was a consistent playmaker in training camp and he had moments this season where he showed some potential. I think he?ll be fine, I?m most worried about his injuries at the moment though. Hopefully that doesn?t become an issue.

im pretty sure Hockenson set a NFL record as a rookie for dropped TD passes.

Stafford finished 6th in qb rating. Just ahead of Patrick Maholmes

Kerryon and Bo showed enough if healthy

Get him a defense

The Lions need a lot

GM
coaching staff
depth at RB, possible starting RB
WR to stretch the field
OL upgrades
dominant edge pass rusher & possibly a starting DT
2 new LB
starting CB opposite Slay

They are all set at Kicker, have a serviceable starting QB and one really good WR

Kerryon will never be healthy. He wasn't in college, he won't be in the pros. He is not an every-down back. Bo's OK.
