Stafford finished 6th in qb rating. Just ahead of Patrick Maholmes

Kerryon and Bo showed enough if healthy

Get him a defense

Agree get this damn team a Defense ya Defensive Guru Rocket Scientist dingus

Kerryon will never be healthy. He wasn't in college, he won't be in the pros. He is not an every-down back. Bo's OK.

Right, I think we need a back to by more of the load carrier because Kerryon should be 1B not 1A. We're one injury away from watching bo scarborough every year and ty johnson for the whole season. Doesn't make me feel comfortable.

The Lions need a lot

GM
coaching staff
depth at RB, possible starting RB
WR to stretch the field
OL upgrades
dominant edge pass rusher & possibly a starting DT
2 new LB
starting CB opposite Slay

They are all set at Kicker, have a serviceable starting QB and one really good WR

You took it easy on them... they need 4 lbs.

Other things to consider:
What happens with marvin?
What happens with snacks?
What happens with slay?
What happens with Wagner?

those are the needs if all of them are back next year.

'Trade down' is the vanilla ice cream, missionary only choice on that list. Should've made people choose their horse.

Trade down is more like icing.... meaning we need multiple impact players. There are people that said just recently they think we're close. For them picking at 3 might be the best option. Okudah, highest rated ot, trade down, chase young.... id be happy with all 4 options honestly.

Trading down can obviously be a boon, but I honestly wonder who would be trading up. Tua is injured, and has a ton of injury questions now. It's very possible teams don't want to use a top 5 pick on him. Herbert just isn't that highly rated.

But that said, if someone wants Tua for sure, they'd need to trade with the Redskins rather than us (which admittedly would land us Young - and is probably the outcome we should be hoping for). So if a team isn't trading up for Tua, who are they trading up for?

Teams that need a QB (not including CIN):
MIA
LAC
CAR
By the way all 3 of them pick in the top 10 back to back to back....wouldnt be crazy for them to move up to get their guy if they like Tua.
JAX
TB (Did you see Arians quote this week?)
IND

6 teams...i guarantee you one of them falls in love with Tua. I agree right now theres only 1 guy and he has an injury risk. But i also think theres going to be 1 or 2 more QBs that climb. Not to mention they stated Tua will have a full recovery in 3 months and resume football activities. Hebert, Eason, Fromm, Montez...all have rd 1 ability and when thats the case teams in the top 10 will make moves to get their guy.

If someone trades up with the Redskins for Tua teams would come to the Lions for Young. That could be ANYBODY and everybody behind them.

If Young is gone, of course there is Tua and Okudah. Heck, any team with a glaring need at the specific position of the "top prospects" might be willing to trade up. By the looks of it there are studs at DT, OT & CB that a team might really want and not want to risk missing out on them.

I think the best case scenario for the Lions is for someone to trade up to 2 for Tua and have Young fall to them to either take him or get a kings ransom via trade.

id be pretty disappointed if Young fell to us and we traded out of the spot....like fire the GM kind of disappointed. I purposely didnt include him in the poll because id assume hes the no brain option even over a trade scenerio. Its literally the biggest missing piece on this team. Unless we have like Clowney and Fowler signed by draft time the pick should absolutely be Young if hes there.

But back to Quin...if you are ok taking a TE in the top 10....but not a potential perrenial All Pro DE when your team spent all season rushing 3 fatasses and never getting close to the QB....theres something really fucking wrong with you and you should be fired asap.

here is the best case scenario for the Lions (if Young is #2)

Miami falls in love with Tua...Detroit trades with Miami down to 5 and gets #18

At #5 they take Okudah or the DT/DE Brown from Auburn
At 18 they grab Gross Matos

2nd round a LB...maybe Troy Dye from Oregon

Or

Grab the most versatile, athletic, playmaking, defensive player in college football...Isiah Simmons MLB Clemson.

He can cover, he can hit, rush the passer, one guy who can do it all. As the draft gets closer, his name will rise!

he would be a good grab between 10-20...he will probably be drafted between 10-15

Whyyy is nobody mentioning epenesa from Iowa. (Hope he comes out) dude was ranked right there with chase young coming into the season. He started off a little slow and still finished with 11.5 sacks. I?m telling ya, he is the pick if he is out! He just undressed Austin Jackson for usc who was projected I think a top 15 pick in their bowl game as well.

I'm sure teams know the Redskins & Lions won't be taking a QB. Nor the Giants so if someone fell in love with Tua it would seem the Giants pick is the one you'll need to get.

I like him... but we need an olb. He's 6'6" 280 lbs and probably plays de in our D opposite flowers. Most "experts" have the kid from Auburn as higher rated as a 3-4 de... so i used him as an option. I dunno... maybe he can stand up on the outside... he's definitely athletic enough.

Right but 4 teams in the top 2-10 wil be gunning for 1 guy if they go qb. So teams life LAC, CAR JAX could trade up which we could use as ammo to go back to the dolphins and ask for both of their 1st rd picks.

The lions seem hellbent on Devon Kennard as our olb that is a pass rusher. Patricia has an obsession with rushing his 3 down lineman and dropping 8. Just figured we need to make that line stout.
