Worst Drew Sharp article yet

he's right , besides CJ they have zero threat to take it to the house....our longest run from LeShoure was 16 yards and Joquie Bell sure doesn't scare anyone.

Broyles is gonna be coming off his 2nd major knee injury , Titus is probably gone.

This team has gaping holes on defense. The Lions cannot afford to spend top picks on offense. If they want to address the slot, and finding another RB later in the draft, that's fine. They need to learn how to find those guys later on.

When is the last time this team has had a shutdown corner? A good secondary? I honestly cannot remember.

Delmas will never be healthy. Levy is okay. KVB is totally absent, and Avril may not be back. There's a lot of work to be done on that side of the ball.

never said they would draft offensive playmakers early...I got them going DE and the OG/C in rounds 1 and 2 , but he is right they lack firepower.

Is it their "chief concern?" That is what is in this article, and for me, makes it a bad read. The first 80 percent is just fluff about fans and demanding more (which has been written 900 times), and the rest is about how this needs to be the top thing addressed.

I honestly believe Stafford only needs one or two pieces to make this offense a lot more productive. They are not that far off. It's the defense that is the chief concern.

the lions priority will always be around their franchise quarterback..everyone in the league that has one..usually consistently surround them with talent..

Lions need more weapons...

Yeah, because this team needs to waste more high draft picks on a skill position.

actually they do need to find talented skill position players somehow. Hopefully not through the early rounds of the draft this year. If mayhew wouldnt have misfired on best, leshoure, titus and broyles then we wouldnt be in this predicament. Meanwhile GB and baltimore are in the playoffs with the likes of cobb and torrie smith. Drop nate, grab mike wallace and put broyles in the slot. Quick back with hands you might look at Barner in the 3rd or Riddick in the later rounds.

I do agree with the premise that they need a couple more good playmakers. But honestly, I do not believe they are far off on the O. However, making it a chief concern, and the focus in the draft and free agency is just not plausible for what this franchise needs. And if they do end up taking skill positions on the offense in rounds 1, 2, or 3, my doubts about this regime will increase.

20 years of drafting offense over defense and you dont have doubts yet? lol

not many CBs make an impact after round 2 , its proven draft history...you will hit one or two every draft but it's slim....so you either take best CB on the board in round 2 and wait for the OG/C in round 3.

drafting where we are drafting (early ) in the rounds sure helps though.

Captain hindsight to the rescue.

2009 Rd 3

Pick 82 Derrick Williams
Pick 84 Mike Wallace

2011

Pick 44 Titus Young
Pick 57 Mikel Leshoure
Pick 58 Torrey Smith

2012 too soon to play captain hindsight and I liked the Reiff pick but...

Pick 23 Reilly Reiff
For immediate impact
Pick 29 Harrison Smith
Pick 39 Jenoris Jenkins

Pick 54 Ryan Broyles
Pick 55 Peter Konz
Pick 62 Casey Hayward

i checked a lot of pre draft threads from last year. You and diggler were all over hayward in rd 2. I couldnt argue with tha pick right now lol. i could even argue that my pick josh robinson would have been more productive than broyles.

lolderrickwilliams. we trade most our late round picks away for the last 3 years and when we do pick its the likes of derrick williams and hogue. 2 guys no longer even on the team. In the case of Hogue we trade up the following draft to draft his replacement, Tahir frikken Whitehead. Who becomes the best cheerleader we had this year. Give me an L! Give me a I! Give me a O! Give me a N! Give me a S! Give me a /FACEPALM!

Lol I mean the Mayhew regime, not the Lions franchise. I know the franchise blows, and I've had my doubts about them since I was in elementary school.

Honestly, with any of the guys in the mocks, they cannot go wrong on defense. If they go offense, in ANY way (including offensive line) with their 1st pick, I think Mayhew should be fired on the spot.

If they stay true to BPA and Joeckel is there, prepare the pink slip. He doesn't fall past Philly IMO, KC or Jax takes a chance on a QB and we get a shot at the Germanator.

if werner and moore are gone. The pick becomes a toss up between joeckel, warmack and milliner. Get your pink slips ready!

I wanted Konz, they would have sat him behind Peterman and Little People Big World. Captain Hindsight says Hayward was definitely the pick. Imagine they went on their db binge starting with Jenkins (no brainier trade up that we only do for wideouts, RBs, and special teams cheerleaders), then grabbed Hayward?

Not entirely fair. Lots of teams passed on those particular players.

Captain Hindsight does not deal in fairness, but reality. Those were the best players available or BPA as MM is oft quoted.
