According to the Detroit Free Press, the Lions are "working towards" re-signing free agent CB Eric Wright.
The Lions met with Wright's agent on Saturday. Wright is hoping for a multi-year deal, but will likely receive few guarantees beyond 2012 after struggling mightily in coverage for the second straight season in 2011. In dire need of upgrading their secondary, there's a good chance the cap-strapped Lions could use their No. 23 overall pick on a cornerback.

Better not be for too much...

Christ I don't know if I can handle another year of watching him try to tackle..

maaaaaaaaaan I was really hoping he wouldn't be back. I understand hes the best of a bad situation but jeez, at least wait till free agency begins to see if you can get somebody who might fit the system better for the same price.

seriously why is Mayhew locking himself into this dude??? its not like anybodies gonna be beating down his door. this make zero sense to me!

maybe the lions are trying to build continuity...lol alot of players switch in so much every year..that may lead to some of their problems.....the more they know each other the better.. idk lol..as long as its cheap idc

better safety play would help our CBs....i cant count how many times amari bit on playaction and Wright was left on an island by himself expecting safety help.

stop making excuses for Wright...he blows.

Hes our 3rd best db behind houston and delmas....so for most of the year he was our 2nd best db since delmas couldnt stay on the field. Mayhews fault he chose to sign the 7th best cb in fa last year, not his.

Berry > Wright

Berry shouldnt be on an nfl roster....only reason he is is because the lions thought dline pressure would cover up for their lack of a secondary. They were wrong.

Berry > Wright

Aids > Berry

I don't think the Lions have much choice. Best I can tell, even with a favorable re-structure by CJ is they will have 20 Million to spend on a LT, CB, DE(Avril), ILB(Tulloch), 2nd QB(Hill)...not to mention signing rookies and about another 12-15 backups.

Idk why Lions fans hate Berry so much. He was Detroit's highest rated corner on PFF last year (I believe he was in the top 25 overall?). He's not a great starter, but he's cheap and young and certainly worth a roster spot. He dropped those picks against NO but he definitely played better than Wright last season.

Who in the secondary was good in their last game? Even Delmas had a horrible game, should he be on a roster? People complain that Berry dropped two picks, but ignore that he was actually in position to make those picks. More than we can say about the other corners. No one is gonna argue he's good, but he's not as bad as Wright. Just keep him away from Twitter.

All the corners were bad. Lions fans seem to hate Berry more than the others, which doesn't make sense. He was far from the worst player in the secondary last year

It wasn't just the last game, he was horrible all year. He should change his name to senior pinata with how often he was beat. How ignorant can you be? He's complete rubbish. Wright will at least be on a roster next season. (practice squads don't count.)

Cool dude. I'll put more stock into scouting reports by people who analyze film than Lions message board "experts" lol.

"Aaron was playing at a really, really high level when he got hurt," coach Jim Schwartz said.

But you should definitely be the coach cuz you know so much more than Schwartz.

What's he going to say? Do you think he's going to rip him in an interview? Don't forget the only reason he saw the playing time he did was because of injuries ahead of him. Even with a team full of outcast corners he should have only been in the dime package. You must have thought Follet was a stud too huh? Shwartz praised him for his high level of play before injuries. lol
