wtf lions?

They better be in the playoffs next year or his job will be in jeopardy after that season.

Unless there are MASSIVE injuries next year....i'd say his job status with the team depends on that fact alone. Mayhew's too.

It's playoffs or bust at that point.

Anyone else question not only the negative offseason things guys did, bit also the positive things? Why is Stafford making so many commercials? Focus on winning the Super Bowl and then make all the commercials you want. Until then, they are distractions and make you think more of yourself than you have proven.

I'm sure many will disagree, and I know they have the right to cash in with endorsements and commercials...I just wish they were not so distracted by them cuz I swear that played a role in their mindset coming into the season, like they had made it and therefore dodint have to prove otherwise so why work as hard.

I disagree. These guys are professionals and most of them have dealt with being in the spotlight well before they even hit the NFL. Look at Verlander....did a SHIT TON of promo and commercial stuff in the offseason.....still had a great year this year. Megatron did more promo work this offseason than he had ever done before and is having his best year too.

It probably does distract some guys. I think it got to Peyton Hillis.....but I think it's a small percentage of guys that let it effect their on field performance.

Gotta disagree, this type of stuff should have zero effect on these guys. Stafford was a first overall pick and was paid a shit ton of money, if he didn't get an I've made it attitude then a couple commercials should be nothing. Suh, CJ similar story. They know they haven't done shit yet and I'm sure they had high expectations for this year. Just like the rest of us I'm sure they are frustrated as all hell with how close they have been, but spending a couple hours making commercials isn't the reason.

Agreed. Making commercials doesn't make you better or worse as a football player. Well, it shouldn't anyways.

The NFL is full of stars and we happen to have 3 of them. It can't just be Tom Brady and Rodgers out there making loot. Everyone should get a piece of the pie.
