The longer this goes on, the worse off the organization is. Calvin is holding their decisions with free agency, the draft, and everything else in the palm of his hands. He's such a big player with the franchise that keeping this stuff secret only hurts what they do going forward.

He needs to come forward soon and end this. It's not like he's had a day or two to think about this. This has probably been on his mind since the start of last season.

to be fair...it is a HUGE decision. He is basically giving away $15M and ending his career. I would rather he wait and make sure he is done vs. pulling a Bret Favre.

I don't see the lions in a bad situation with CJ not annoucing, they have 33 mil to spend which includes his cap number.....if he retires after FA use the money saved on extending Slay, Martin, Warford. We can get 3 big name FA and sign the draft and lower priced FA.

I know it's frustrating to wait.....but it means NOTHING until the start of FA. Valenti and Foster know shit.

For all we know (and those douchbags too) CJ has told the Lions he is absolutely done but would let them know by FA if he has a change of heart.

IMO.....the Lions know his answer.....but are like a lot of us at this point and are hoping that the time away and some time to heal change his mind. Also, I don't think this has ANYTHING to do with money or wanting out of Detroit. I think IF he decided on coming back he would be willing to rework his deal for some cap relief for the team. CJ just seems like that kind of guy to me.

We don't have to use any money on the draftees until july..I don't think it's a big deal if he waits 2 months..we still have over $33 mil to spend and we're not signing more than 3 big FA..which shouldnt be more than a $20 mil 1st yr cap #...Valenti just likes to dog the lions

Yeah, sorry didn't mean to imply that the story had any traction. Just posting that the whole conspiracy theory that Valenti/Foster have been throwing out there is being picked up by national outlets like PFT.
