So trading Pineda to the Yankees for Montero, instead of Lee is a much, much "heftier" price??

So what was Lee, a bag of mixed nuts?

What a homer...lol.
Any trade the Yanks do is the greatest trade ever

I'm disabled and often in pain, and definitely want some of whatever this Fleder guy is on...haha!!

Analysis, from mlbtraderumors

Yankees GM Brian Cashman feels he took a "huge risk" with the trade, reports The Record's Bob Klapisch (via Twitter). "I gave up a ton (for Pineda)," Cashman said. "To me, Montero is Mike Piazza. He's Miguel Cabrera."

Oh pshaw, what malarkey, hogwash, balderdash, poppycock, lickspittle, gobbledegook and cockamame piffle, Cashman!!

So if Seattle puts Montero behind the plate, he turns into Piazza,or if they stick him @ first, he will then become Cabrera?

LMFAO!!

Well, he IS named Jesus, so he has that over Timmy Tebow anyhow, but he is NOT, and quite likely will never be like Mike OR Miggy.

Typical corporate-capitalist doublespeak, like when glossing over causing environmental/biological/ecological catastrophes or PR disasters from defective or health-endangering/damaging products, or massive layoffs, by polishing an outsourcing and/or offshoring turd, after it was just pinched off.

Yanks have upgraded. They were amazingly lucky to win 97 with C.C. and duct tape for a starting staff last year.

I wish our prospects got nearly as much hype as the Yanks and Phillies than we would be able to have the chips to trade for Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay, and Hunter Pence for terrible prospects who have major questions about their ability. Montero is a fat defensive liability that will have to move to first where they already have Justin Smoak so this was a stupid trade for the Mariners.

Now that i look at the full trade, the Mariners got fleeced. The second guy they gave up was a top 4 prospect in their system.

On paper it sure seems that way

Even though Montero will help Seattle.. They should have never traded a possible future Ace in Pineda for him.. He is probably going to be a DH or 1st baseman rather than a catcher..

While it seems like a terrible trade, you never know till these young guys have a few years with their new teams.

I dunno, maybe they could or should have, but good-hitting and young catchers aren't exactly plentiful in MLB, but that of course goes hand in hand with having good defense as well, so in Montero's case, the Mariners are obviously gonna need him to continue to work on improving his defense behind the plate, and on offense when @ the plate as well.
He'll end up at 1B, they could have gotten Mike Stanton for him

Who could have?

There's no chance in hell the Marlins would have traded Stanton for Pineda.

Who hypes the Yankees and Phillies prospects?

Prospect ranking sites.

ML teams do not give a fuck what baseball america has to say about prospects, they have their own scouts, so Yankees and Phillies prospects being overhyped has no effect whatsoever on what MLB teams think of them/perceive their value to be.

Yup, poor trade for the Mariners.
