Yankees @ Tigers 6-2-2016 Game 53

This marked the first time that Maybin, Miller and Cabrera had appeared in the same game.
In 2007, Maybin and Miller were the key players sent to Miami in the trade that brought Cabrera to the Tigers.

Matt Boyd: His final line reflects four earned runs allowed, but the bullpen was responsible for half. In truth, he had a solid night until the end, and put up a perfect game until two outs in the fifth when he walked a batter.

Miguel Cabrera: Had a three-hit day, including a double in the fourth and a run scored.

STREAKS AND STATS:
Justin Upton's walk in the eighth was just his second in the last 26 at-bats.

Miguel Cabrera finished 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. It marked his first multi-hit game since May 23.
He had been in a slump during that time, in which he was batting just .161/.235/.290 with only one home run, one double, and seven strikeouts.

Ian Kinsler came on as a pinch hitter in the eighth with two outs and two on-base. He hit an RBI double, further cutting into the Yankees' lead. It was his first career hit as a pinch hitter, having been 0-for-5 up to that point.

Tigers score 1 run each on Betances/Miller/Chapman. Gotta wonder if that will happen again at all this year. Only get 1 on Pineda who's ERA starting the day was just shy of 7. Makes sense.
