You didn't play to win today Schwartz

BTW I would have had 0 issue if they ran another play and I don't think he made a mistake having him kick it on 3rd down. IMO, he had him kick on 3rd down to end the game. It wasn't that he didn't have faith in the offense or in case they botched the snap. Guys were getting tired and mistakes were being made. He was confident his kicker would make it and Hanson's earned that confidence.

But here is where I disagree with you guys....you're saying run another play to gain a couple of yards. Why? There is no difference to Hanson if he's kicking a 47 yarder or a 42 or 43 yarder. It would be different if it was a 53 yarder...then yes, you should try and gain a few more yards. But risking all of the bad things that can (sack, penalty, turnover, loss of yards) to gain a couple of yards isn't worth the risk/reward. Hanson missed that kick because of the snap and not the distance or the spot on the field. The snap just threw the timing of the play off.

Not quite.. I'm saying run another play because your still 40+ out and it's only 3rd down, not 4th. Run another play because it's 3rd down and you still have another play to try and gain more yards. The argument is we had no confidence something bad wouldn't happen. This is not how winning teams and coaches think.

Mandchild have you ever seen a team in OT go for the win with a long FG 40+ out on 3rd down before yesterday? I haven't. Not saying there hasn't been, but I've never seen that before yesterday. Funny how all the things that apparently went wrong in that game this is the only thing I'm going to remember, yes even more so than the stupid red flag rule. I'm going to remember giving up a down 40+ out yet because something bad might happen. oh well.

Way to much respect for a defense that was tired and playing horribly......no confidence in our offense = 47 yd gw fg on 3rd down after 2 runs up the gut.

Yeah, we drive down the field and upon hitting the edge of fg range we throw in the towel and say we cannot go any further. They had been driving well up to that point and that d had to be tired. On the first two downs they should have continued aggressively passing downfield. I think they got scared, which is almost always going to mean a loss.
