Says the Tiger fan with a Jimrice user name. Nothing I said has anything to do with trolling... I post facts... You just live in your own head and think only your answers are right.. What the heck is your problem... You don't like a answer and you start calling people names.. Now that is a what a typical troll does..

Oh 8 men to the plate and who ends it...... K boy...

Dude, he's fn clueless. It's a comedy show with this guy. I swear, him and Raburn are boys. There's no other reason to back him. Oh wait, he "heats up" in the 2nd half...lol. What a fn joke.

This whole thread is a disaster. And I do agree with Jim a lot here especially regarding Mod behavior.

I like you Bob, but you seem to be going out of your way to attack Jim and mjs, two highly intelligent and reasonable posters for not much other than a simple disagreement. Those are not exactly the people you want to force to leave this message board. Nothing I have seen either say has been directed at you personally. The "troll" comment might have been a bit over the top but it really should not have devolved into this.

Well, he did call Tony a meathead. Just sayin'

True,

but Tony is not a Mod, and I don't think anybody was really fretting over that.

Maybe not but its still name calling. The thing you have to understand we came over here with most of the other former ESPN users, and we're passionate Detroit sports fans and we discuss and even argue. I get called troll because I have a different opinion, lol.

I can't say I haven't cussed at someone, I try to never do that but stuff gets said. It doesn't mean anything. We're just regular sports freaks like the rest of ya.

And if we were mods, like other sites have mods, threads would be closed and people banned. No one wants that. That's why Monster created the site in the first place, to not have the ESPN restrictions. There's a cutoff point - sure.

As the saying goes, - should really get those non-believers :hehe: Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.

I waited patiently the past 2/3 years, watching Raburn and his rip van winkle mendoza line routine until at some point in the second half start hitting.
All this time, more often than not his defense at 2B is usually awful, all the defensive metrics bare that out UZR/UZR150 anything else I am not as up to speed saber speaking as some of you; dWAR? fWAR? DR/DE/defensive efficiency?
Package the 2B defense with some sucky left and right field and it adds up to frustration from me giving him the shinebox monikor early last year at espn.
If in case anyone thinks I hate the guy, or any Tigers player past or present, that is awful for long stretches, I do not. Like most everyone here, I get frustrated at the long, months long sticking with a player daily Until he gets it together. I think most everyone is on board with that, if players hit and field more often, they help the team and outcome of the games...more Tigers wins. All anyone has to do is look at all the game threads, many are understandably frustrated.

All that said, personally, I would like to see Raburn platoon and play vs. lefty pitchers, and those righthanders that are not leaders on other teams staffs...like a 4 or 5 pitcher from other teams. I would rather he does this while in the outfield, and not at 2B. and all this starting now and see how it hopefully helps him with a boost into the second half.

This probably won't happen with Leyland, but it's just my thoughts and what I would do.
A Dirks and Raburn combo in left, with twinkle toes Delmon on occasion...keeping Delmon at DH more often than not.

and that still doesn't solve a couple other issues we are seeing, Boesch and his chasing/out of zone swings, or Leyland's bullpen management.

I hope after the road games this month they can still be around .500 and these players can heat up. that is all....

Wow I defend myself and Tony and get called out... Weird.. Raburn should never play verses RHP if it can be helped.. I am just as passionate about the Tigers as anyone and to be called a troll for that was ludicrous but anyway as a moderator i feel that i am pretty laid back on most issues... I try and post on a lot of different threads and the ones I don't I do like to read... But getting back top Raburn and this is it... He is not a difference maker. His numbers have regressed every year not counting his first two seasons. Waiting for Ryan to wake-up is just not good for the team or good baseball... Just platoon him. Bat him verses LHP for awhile and maybe he can heat up... Anyway go Tiger!!!!!
