#2 pick for Stafford and a mid round pick

I think it proves that Peyton and Luck make that team. A "decent" team with shitty QB play does't go 2-14.

Not neccessarily. How many backups sport a winning record? Teams fall apart when their starter goes down, unless they have a solid backup that the team believes in. If the Lions had Painter instead of Hill when stafford went down, would you guys have watched the games? The 2010 4 game winning streak to end the season, would've went 0-4 with Painter at the helm. A serviceable backup is a necessity.

The year between Manning and Luck Indy had a team QB rating of 72

2014 there were two teams with similar ratings.

Browns (decent team) went 7-9
Jax (shitty team) went 2-14

2013 (similar to worse)

Raiders (shitty) 4-12
Baltimore (decent) 8-8
Jax (shitty) 4-12
NYG (Decent) 7-9
Jets (Decent) 8-8

2012

Browns (shitty) 5-11
Jets Decent) 6-10
KC (Shitty) 2-14
AZ ??? 5-11

Most of these teams that were decent won between 5 to 8 games. Even some of the shitty teams won 4 games with similar or worse play out of the QB. That Indy team is and was just an average to below average team that was elevated by Manning and now by Luck.

Drew Brees. He's a good example. We all know he's a very good QB and he was very good last year as well..7 wins. I get what you mean, Tom. But it's not an absolute..

Last year some of you wanted to trade Staff for Manziel because he was a cant miss. We see how that worked out. This team has a window of about 2-3 years to win and its close. You cant trade Staff now and expect a rookie QB to step in and do as well. that would be to much pressure and chances are very high he would fail.

I don't recall anyone wanting Manziel.

Stafford is this teams QB this year, probably next. If they think one of the third rounders this year has the potential you take them and give them at least a year to learn.

If not you may need to look at using a first or second next year on a QB. Assuming Stafford has another average at best year. Maybe one of the Ohio State QBs. Maybe Cook from MSU.

Stafford played way better this past season. The thing that irked me the most was the conservative play calling on offense. Ebron looked like all rookie TE's do. Bush looked old. They could have used Riddick more but something strange there. O-line was putrid. Special teams blowed again. Team is going nowhere in the future, too many holes.

Cant remember a team that has not only kept starting ,but completely back, a qb for this long that is statistically so bad. I really cant think of another team. Maybe 1 or 2 years...not 6 or 7.
