2014 UDFA Thread

How did Brandon Coleman go undrafted?! He was projected to go in rounds 3-4. And he still hasn't signed with a team yet! He's a 6'6 225lb WR who ran a 4.56 40, has a 32.5 inch vertical, and tied for 2nd with 21 reps on the benchpress. He also has no documented character problems. Just doesn't make any sense to me...

There has to be something that just hasn't been made public yet

Projections don't mean much. I saw one site earlier today, horsing around, where the guy has projections for each player. Counting them off, he had 86 guys projected as fourth round picks and 112 as 5th rounders.

That seems a little hard to pull off.

However, I am surprised that Coleman wasn't drafted and that he hasn't signed somewhere. That one is a little more than surprising actually.

I figured the Browns would give him a jingle.

Would've been smart of them, but I'm sure that he had plenty of teams offering him a deal. And playing with Brees is a much better choice than Manziel.

Manziel isn't going to play. He's the next Tebow.

Pettine said the other day there was no reason to draft a QB early, because none of them would beat out Hoyer. He's a Hoyer advocate.

Manziel spends two years behind Hoyer, and gets dealt to the Jets for a fourth rounder, where he is third string behind Taj Boyd and Gino Smith... and Smith will be the backup by then.

1. Manziel actually knows how to throw the ball. Tebow didn't.
2. If you believed Pettine for one second when he said that, you need to try to better understand how much BS is said before the draft. Hoyer had a couple good games last year, but never did anything before that.
3. I guarantee you that Manziel will start at least one game this year, unless Manziel gets injured before he sees the field. There's no way that Hoyer starts all year.

Manziel is more RG3 than Tebow. And his O coordinator is Shanahan. I don't think Hoyer starts.

If Gordon is suspended it'd be better if Manziel sat for a year..

Sarcasm?? ;)

Not this time actually. I think Manziel is trash in any round.

The kid can play some, but in my opinion his throws are flat out ugly. I am not sure I have ever seen a good spiral from him. He exposes to much of the ball, end over end, which is going to give defenders in the NFL a better read on it and create more turnovers than Ryan Leaf had.

I think his maturity and ego are huge question marks. The guy was willing to put his future and his team at risk to sign some autographs for pay. And while I am sure nearly every high ranked football player is breaking the rules and getting side money, you have to be a special flavor of stupid to do it in front of a few thousand people at a card show.

Take a kid with ego and maturity problems and make him a millionaire and see where is gets you. 99.99% of the time it gets disastrously worse.

If I were running and NFL team, he would have been undraftable in ANY round to me. I had a fifth round grade on Tebow.

Worst QB Cleveland has drafted yet, and if he wins the division with the Browns I'll eat my words.

I dunno about you guys...but I wanna see what james Franklin can do in this offense :D

Cornelius Lucas (far right)
