People need to start to realize that football is a very physical game. And lots of injuries happen. Believe it or not we are not the only team to pick up injury prone players. In fact it happens to lots of teams. You can afford a risk on a guy who is a udfa. There is literally nothing to lose. Our mistakes were injury prone at higher picks. There are plenty of guys who got injured a bunch in college who don't at all in the pros, and vice versa. I can't believe anyone is bitching about 20k on a udfa who broke his foot. Who cares?

Upset no, care about their 20k, no. Praise for a scouting department, yes. I've come to realize if we get players that turn out good, it's just dumb luck. Our scouting department, over the years, not much of a track record. Imo, they suck. Other people may differ..

It always cracks me up when people sarcastically talk about how we know more than the scouting department when we analyze picks, as if they have done anything memorable in their entire history with this franchise. Scouting is not AP Calculus. You go watch a guy, study how he plays, and see if he fits what your team needs/does. Let's not make the Lions management out to be brain surgeons.
