16m for DT. Fk.

Suh 8.5 sacks, 12 QB hits and 37 hurries plus 2 more sacks in playoffs and unstoppable in game.

8.5 sacks up there with Charles Johnson (12th for DEs)
12 QB hits up there with DeMarcus Ware (10th for DEs)
37 hurries 9th for DEs (Mario Williams)

Suh produced. Beast in run game too with best run D in league. Interior pressure is more important pressure IMO.

Pay him 16 million per.

I don't give a fk. You pay him long with the other two extremely high cost players and you screw up a franchise. We haven't won jack with all of them here..yet suddenly he's a must sign. There are many teams who don't have a Suh caliber yet are much better. You're throwing numbers that's he'd be 9th, 10th or 12th in DE categories yet you want to pay him more than any DE.

Paying him he would have much less of a cap number than he has this year. We didn't screw up anything. We made the playoffs. Had plenty of other big contracts with Calvin and Stafford. Draft well and it doesn't matter. Ansah, Slay, Reiff, guys like that is how you do well even if you are paying people.

You worries about money are unjustified.

When you're paying a DT 16m, which is more that what he's worth it's not unjustified. You finish with "Draft well and it doesn't matter." - its up in the air on weather he drafts well currently..

You don't pay a DT more then the best DE. Comes down to it I'll take Watt over Suh..especially Watt is 2 years younger.

Suh is up there with Mario Williams production. He deserves that money. He's earned it.

Two different players. You should not compare the two. Watts is a great player and also plays on offense.

You almost have to sign him because without him, that d-line looks way different. Suh is double teamed on every play. There is no stat for that. If we can't sign him and decide not to franchise him... you will see his value. Additionally, the cap number should go up.

The two sacks of Romo with offensive guards draped all over him was other worldly.

Plug and play for the most part around Suh and they produced. You offer to make him the highest paid tackle and let him decide.

KEEP PRATER!!! I'd absolutely give him a raise. To go through another situation like early in the year...no way can Mayhew be THAT stupid, right? I'd bet Prater wouldn't even cost that much and would be willing to give the Lions a discount since they gave him a second chance.

Read he would be happy to retire a Lion

Not really.....jones was the worst de in the league and ansah had like 8 sacks...

Ansah top 5 per Pff. Most qb hits, consistent pressure and very good against run

Jones good against run and decent finish to season. Ended up with 5 sacks

So he was a step late more than anyone else in the league....awesome.

My concern is when Ansah comes off his rookie contract. If he is a top 5 DE, he will deserve that kind of money. That will be another $16+M for him. Hopefully the cap goes up enough to support his contract too. Lions could have $50M tied up just in Suh, Faitley, and Ansah...they definitely will need the cap raised another $20M to support that and have enough for the team, IMO

Fairley suh mosely are free agents and jones is awful and should be cut. theres a good chance we have very little money tied up in the dline by next year.

Let Suh and Fairly walk and put their money into Jerry Hughes and Terrance Knighton.

Time for some Pot Roast in Ford Field.

You could probably, I would imagine, sign both of those guys for less than Suh alone would cost us to keep.

I assume he meant if we sign Suh.

shouldn't look that far ahead to when ansahs rookie contract expires. first things first, need to figure out what to do with suh. If suh is gone resigning ansah is a non issue.

I'd rather draft that kid from Texas...Malcom Brown.

Pair him with a healthy Fairley and you would still get some good production fron the DT position.

And save $7M in cap space this year and another $10M next year!
