2016 Draft- Who ya got?

How do the Lions have enough weapons when people consistently bash Ebron on this board, we don't have a strong running game, we picked up Marvin Jones to be our #2 at worse, maybe #1 but he's still a question mark. I don't get it. A player like Treadwell or Coleman would be money. It at least gives you more options then possibly throwing out a guy like Fuller, TJ Jones, Ridley or ZZ. I like those guys but they're all question marks.......

And im not trying to start shit with this post, but cmon guys lol. Acquiring weapons is not a bad idea. Most of you guys scoff at our offense. Why not improve it??

With saying that, I'm on the defensive side of the ball this year. I want one of the DE's (currently 3 on the roster I believe) or LB ....Lee or Ragland. Sign up!!

For me personally, I don't have anything against adding more offensive skill players. I just don't see a need to get a WR, RB, or TE in the first round. Plus, this draft's WR, TE, and RB classes are weak at the top of the draft save for maybe Elliot, which I don't even particularly care for. I'd much rather target Rashard Higgins, Michael Thomas, Leonte Carroo or someone else on Day 2 or 3 if the Lions do decide to get a WR. I don't see a huge difference between the top WRs and the mid round WRs in this draft.

Go ahead and add a few more skill players. But not in the 1st or 2nd round, hell stay away from the 3rd. The fascination with burning a super high pick on a WR/RB has to stop. They've done it enough recently, time to build this the right way.

If Stafford doesn't have the time to throw, what good will another 1st Rd WR do? Build the trenches first, then see who else is available in the later rounds for weapons.

1,16. Vernon Butler, DT
2,46. Cody Whitehair, OT
3,95. James Bradberry, CB
4,111. Scooby Wright, ILB
5,151. Keyarris Garrett, WR
5,169. Cole Toner, OT
6,191. Kevin Hogan, QB
6,202. Jonathan Williams, RB
6,210. Jihad Ward, DE
7,236. Kyle Friend, OC

I have a feeling they are going to draft Cardale Jones in the 4th, just a hunch.

Don't like the lbs in rd1.

De, dt, ot, wr....or I'll throw in cb.

Jackson iii would look nice in honalulu blue.

Doesn't "Short Arms" Whitehair project as a guard?

Could also play RT, and OC. He would kick Swanson to the curb in a minute. Good player, starts at RT day one.

A good gm should ask himself where on his team he doesn't have starting talent. Secondary is the immediate answer and right tackle. A corner should definitely be in play at 16.

Who's going to be available at 16 though? If Hargreaves is gone, should a corner at 16 even be in play? I don't want Mackenzie, but wouldn't mind Apple if we could trade down to where he's expected to go

There are some good corners in this draft.

William Jackson IIIwill behere at 16...slight reach.

That guy looked awesome at the combine......extremely quick.....fast out of breaks....fluid hips....turned and ran.....fast.

I wouldn't mind that pick at all.

Slight reach. But it's only a reach on draft day. If he becomes a stud CB.....it becomes a steal!

OT seems like a perennial pick here. So, for the people wanting to go OT, what OTs must be off the board to change your opinions on going after an OT in the 1st round?

After Stanley and Conklin id hold off until rds 2 or 3 to grab an OT. Also, the idea of moving Reiff to RT probably goes out the window.

Ya, id have to disagree with Cheenos analysis just a little bit. The only way he should be compared to Browner is because hes tall.....aka not at all. Hes faster and more agile ....and much less of a physical presense in the run game. Probably with better ball skills. Wouldn't mind seeing him picked at 16. Ideally you drop back a couple picks to gain value and get him....but easier said than done.

I'd take Tunsil, Conklin and Whitehair at 16 in that order. I'm fine with Whitehair having short arms. Joe Thomas and a few other OT have short arms. PFF did a study a few years back and showed there's no correlation with arm length for OT. Stanley I'd be willing to take at 16 but if there's a really great DL prospect available at 16 I'd rather the Lions do that and get OT later. I'd take Spriggs later in the first in a trade down.

To be fair I did compare him to Seattle Browner, who was a stud. He's way faster, but like all tall corners you need your hips on point to be considered agile, I don't consider him agile. Alternatively you can be like Sherman or Rasheen and be smart as hell and just anticipate. He's not my guy at 16 though. Not sour on anyone who is of the opinion that he is though.

Yep, and we all have different opinions on players. I think guys like Treadwell, Coleman and Elliott are game changers. Would love to see one of those guys in a Lions uni.
