2016 NFL Draft Thread

Yes dt is the best value in this draft. But why lose picks for the only position were deep at? Ngata wright walker Reid amongst others.

Meanwhile we have 2 des on our roster worth a crap.

You saying ANY of our DTs are worth a crap? Ngata is old, Walker is coming off a torn acl(awesome), and Reid and Wright have done little to nothing. Upgrade is necessary for both positions, I'll give you that.

The problem a lot of people/teams fall into is only looking at the current year when evaluating team positional needs. Yes the Lions are 'OK' at DT this year, but I think next year they will need to upgrade, and you might as well take advantage of the 'value' this draft provided by grabbing one of the top DTs left on the board.

That being said if the did take a DE I wouldnt crucify Quinn

I hope they go DL with the 46th overall pick. There is about a dozen DL guys I could live with at 46. All of them are likely to be gone by the 95th overall pick. I really like Jones, Day and Washington at 46th overall.

So Butler said we would pick him. I wish as a organization the lions could just be a tad more professional if this is true :/

2 guys that mayhew drafted. and 2 guys that Quinn signed this off season. Lions are the only ones to fault for that. The 2 starters Ngata and Walker solely lies on Quinn.

I don't think either Reed or Robinson last until our pick. By all means if we get one of them a Decker/DT draft will be a nice start to draft weekend for the lions. But we still have a glaring hole at corner opposite slay. Safety spot is weak. DE has no depth at all....zero. Center is weak. WR depth is weak. Still a lot of holes elsewhere to decide to bolster the DT position that actually is the only position on the field youre ok at.

Remember, quin went all out need at 16. FOr him to completely flip the script and go BPA and grab a DT would be surprising to me.

I agree. We need DEs . We have a roster full o fDefensive Tackles already. No, they aren't Suh... but they can play. We need to help the edges.

A DE opposite Ansah would work. I still would like to grab a LB. Get rid of Tulloch.

So Tunsil doesn't show up for the Miami press conference because of "unknown medical reaction."

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...y-tunsil-appear-introductory-press-conference

2 things potentially happened:

he bombed his media time yesterday so bad he deicded not to show up for it today.

he got bombed last night with all of his miss state buddies that were there with him and decided not to show up today.

Theres no way in hell the GM and coach planned to have that introductory press conference today without him. That would be the most idiotic thing ever....

What's wrong with Taylor? IMO, we need depth at DE, not Taylors replacement. We need a starter at DT, imo

Taylor is fine. I like him as a rotational backup. As far as DT, we have so many right now. Will a 2nd round pick suddenly jump guys like Reid and Wright and Wilson etc?

But honestly I'd just trade our 2nd round pick. Or just give it away.

I don't see why either one of them wouldn't jump those guys on the depth chart day one. Devin Taylor is capable of being a 10 sack guy(7 last year), what makes him just worthy of just being a rotational guy? I think he's earned the opportunity to start.

I always thought, at one time, first 3 rounds should be starters. I don't believe that anymore. I don't think if we grab a DT he begins a starter. So weather a DE starts or is a backup I think it's more important.

Following the Lions drafting history, I thought the first rounders are supposed to be starters only if they were picked in the top 3, the second rounders are supposed to be busts and the 3rd rounders are a crap shoot.
