Theres still a ton of quality names out there in free agency. You have 30 mil left and can go out and get guys like Jamie Collins (Justin Houston if you want to splurge) and Brent Grimes to add some leadership and depth you could be in a really good position going into the draft.

I love the idea of getting Collins and Grimes, but didn't it come out that Collins was traded from the Pats in part because he wouldn't listen to Matty P's play calls... Just feel like it's very unlikely that we sign Collins even though I would love the move.

Some information on recent Lions contracts signed by Tommylee Lewis, Marcus Cooper, Logan Thomas and Andrew Donnal:

Lewis' one-year contract with the Lions is worth $720,000 in base salary along with a $50,000 signing bonus. There's also a roster bonus of $6,250 for every game he's on the 46-man roster (capped at $100,000) and a workout bonus of $50,000. His cap hit is $920,000. Dead money if he doesn't make the roster comes in at $50,000.

Thomas' one-year deal is worth $805,000 in base salary with a signing bonus of $30,000. There's also a workout bonus of $30,000 and a roster bonus of $1,875 per game he's on the 46-man roster (capped at $30,000). He carries $30,000 in dead money if he's cut and a cap hit of $735,000.

Donnal's one-year deal has a $805,000 base salary and a $15,000 signing bonus. He also has a $25,000 workout bonus. His cap hit is $685,000 and carries a dead money charge of $15,000 if cut.

Cooper's one-year deal has an $805,000 base salary -- $150,000 of which is guaranteed. He also had a $90,000 signing bonus. He carries a cap hit of $735,000 and would cost the Lions $240,000 in dead money if he's cut.
