2019 Major League Playoffs and World Series

Observations about G1.

1. Martinez bunting Adams in inning one with X2bX and one out was Ausmusesque. Lowered RE from 1.065 to .664. Even a successful attempt would have made it .865.
2. Robles needs to go diving school. Who dives with their glove fingers up? That's a slide-and-cradle all day long.
3. Springer "springing" his way to first on what became only a double was inexcusable. He should have been standing on third base. If things play out the same, he scores on Altuve's LO7, but I am a believer in the time-space continuum, so we'll never know.
4. Alan Porter should stay behind the plate for the entire series. He was outstanding. But he moves to RF and then is the replay man for the rest of the series. Doug Eddings is the HPU tonight. Should be very entertaining. At least West, Bucknor, Hernandez, Cuzzi, Davidson, and Meals (I could continue) are watching like we are.
5. Soto makes Harper a footnote. (op.cit)
6. Max looked like Billy Chapel on the mound. I think I even heard him say "clear the mechanism."
7. "John Smoltz's comments makes the trade for Doyle Alexander a winner for the Tigers" (Twitter comment).

Washington takes a 1-0 lead in the series. If they go up 2-0 this series is over. Not sure who I am rooting for. Both teams have ex-Tigers. I normally root for the AL unless Boston or New York Are in it. I hope neither win anything ever again. I still think the Astros being in the AL is weird.

Teams down 2-0 have won WSs -- '65 Dodgers, '71 Pirates, '78 Yankees, '81 Dodgers, '85 Royals, and '86 Mets come to immediate mind.

EDIT: '96 Yankees as well.

And I definitely want the Ex-Expos to win the WS over the Colt 45s.

I don't care about either team but it would be nice for Max to get a ring. I always liked him especially after reading that story about his brother.
