2020 - 2021 Free Agents and Offseason Moves

THE SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

The Saturday Survey offers readers the opportunity to weigh in on a relevant topic. So here is a poll to gauge the pulse of our passionate readers.
Today we center the discussion on free agency and how active the Tigers will be in 2021.
As always, we welcome your comments, so please vote and then submit your reasons (4 sentences max!) for how you voted in the usual comment box. Don?t forget to come back later and view the results!

The Hot Stove season is upon us! But how hot will it be for the Detroit Tigers? Will they step it up and sign a player beyond a year contract? Or will they be more cautious than in the past?
As you think about what the team will do, there are some factors to consider. The pandemic continues to mess with life and it?s unknown if baseball will be playing to live fans next year. And if they are, will limits be enforced that will still impact revenue? And what about the millions each team lost in 2020?
Will the Tigers try to balance the books?
And during this early stage of rebuilding, is the team best served by signing free agents ? or waiting another year?
But then, the team said goodbye to their placeholder manager and brought in AJ Hinch. It looks as if they are increasingly serious about becoming contenders again.
So what do you think the team will do? Please select one of the choices below.

For the 2021 season, the Tigers are most likely to sign:
1. A premier free agent.

2. A moderate free agent (2+ yrs.).

3. 1 or more stopgap free agents (1 yr.).

4. No free agent signings.

5. Not sure.
