A few things

no shit.....but every organization has a cap on what they are willing to spend. Today I heard that the Yankees are trimming payroll and they probably won't re-sign Cano. Given there is no salary cap do you fully expect that the Tigers will offer him a Prince like contract? Why didn't the Tigers sign Darvish? I mean the Tigers have holes at both corner OF spots, no 2B and need at least 1 more quality starter. If there is an unlimited amount of money don't you think that the Tigers would have filled those holes? Use your brain Mitch....I know it is difficult for you sometimes.

While the Yankees are trimming payroll, they are absolutely going to re-sign Cano.

If the Tigers actually had a decent farm system they wouldn't have to throw as much money around and you wouldn't have to use guys like Don Kelly, Quintin Berry, Brad Eldred, Ryan Raburn, Danny Worth, etc., etc. as your fill-ins.

And I'm still waiting for all 10 of those major league ready arms to come up and contribute.

I'm amazed at some of the garbage on this roster with a payroll of $120 million.

My honest reaction when I first learned we signed Fielder was..

1. Wow holy crap really no way!!. followed by

2. Ok so we replaced Victors bat with a guy that hits more HR's but has a lower ave. it's a wash..

3. Then hey Miggy has gotten pretty good at 1st is Fielder just as good at 1st? (I really didn't know then, now I do, NOPE!).. I guess Miggy goes back to 3rd then..

4. And finally it was oh no where does that leave Inge..I'll bet Inge is pissed. Then I went back to doing whatever it was I was doing that day.

Speaking of Danny Worth what's the record for most times a guy has been called up and sent back down again in the same season?

I agree but unless we become Tampa, trimming payroll and we're the Pirates. But with Dirks, Smyly, possibly Turner and Castellanos maybe some hope. Just not enough and not fast enough.

I have to give DD some credit though, he's managed to trade away "top prospects" for some actual good players...and most of those "top prospects" haven't contributed much in the majors.

Is DD just a good talker or what?

I see Andrew Miller is in the Red Sox BP this season. 8IP, 0ER. Not sure what Maybin's up too.

Maybin after his new contract: .205 .307 .298 .605. Another kburn.

it's called the Joe Dimaggio Award.... for so many cup of coffee trips.

When you put out so much for all that stick, and the stick isn't coming through for you to the degree you that you put out for it, you're disappointed.

Aslk Sandy Bullock.
