We're 27.5 point favorites, the game is on ABC. Air Force no longer runs the triuple option, but they are still run heavy. They don't have an O lineman over 285 lbs, there's a good chance Malik McDowell sends on of their O linemen into orbit.

This is a good game to play a lot of young players and see what they've got. Also a good game to work on our passing attack and kick coverage.

Air Force's starting QB is out hurt.

There's a good chance we will be 10+ point favorites in every game we play the rest of the season save for Ohio State.

No more triple option! Thats great to hear. They got rid of it for a reason but that is usually an automatic 8 yards per carry.

One thing that's going to be important for our playoff hopes is really dominating these lesser teams. It's one thing to play super vanilla and conservative in the first game, not tipping your hand with Oregon coming through the following week. It's another to let Air Force, or half our Big 10 opponents, stay close or score a bunch of points. 12-0 speaks for itself, but 11-1 with a bunch of blowouts looks a lot better than 11-1 where we squeaked passed a bunch of nobodies.

An 11-1 nonconf champion, particularly one that didn't even play in the game is not going to make the playoff unless two other power 5 conf champs have 2 losses. Then maybe the loser of the MSU/OSU game gets in. Maybe.

I think Dantonio shortened the bench, especially offensively for the 1st couple games. We should see more kids play the next few games, and we should see the play book open up a little more too.

Looks like Felton Davis III is now on the depth chart and will likely play this weekend. 6-4, 185 lb WR with good speed and reportedly excellent hands.

Delton Williams is likely Red Shirting. And I wouldn't be surprised if he were a defensive player when he palys next season.

What offense do they run now in place of the option? Because they had 24 passing yards last week and had 69 rush attempts.

we need to have some guys ready for next year, Davis needs to get on the field because next year all we have coming back is Shelton really. he could play two games and get red shirted but next year we'll have some great freshmen with Chambers, Layne, Jackson, and possibly Corley but we'll need some guys who have had reps before.

based on the clips I saw, it was like a straightforward offense (i-set, ace set packages) where they just handed it off almost all the time. It's strange to think they could do that successfully against anyone but the most inferior teams, AF recruits being not typically as big as any given D-1 programs' recruits. Maybe they're just extremely well-drilled and discplined, and block better.

They were good last year, but haven't played anybody yet really though. You guys should absolutely roll them, but they'll play all 4 quarters.

Did they decide to bring back leather helmets also?

I just hope our DL make it out healthy. Their OL is gonna chop block all game and our guys are pretty tall. Really hate to see one go down with a knee injury.

Not so fast, my friend. You don't want to be under-estimating the flyboys.

DeAnthony Arnett is starting. I assume in place of Shelton who has struggled as a receiver.

Uh oh, Copeland is on the sidelines in a neck brace. Not good, rumors are he broke a bone in his neck.

I love Monte Nicholson, but damn he's a bad tackler mostly because he takes bad angles.
