AL Central Watch

Hopefully this is the start of a big turnaround for us..

This weekend would be the best time to close the gap.

Chicago has a tough series coming up against the Dodgers
Cleveland is facing a hot Pirates team (well they were hot until running into Baltimore)

Meanwhile, the Tigers get to play the Rockies, who've lost 8 in a row and are just plain terrible.

Updated, Tigers could find themselves 5 back again if the Sux hold onto their lead.

Unless a team gets really hot this division may be won with 80-90 games... Maybe 80-85

this is far and away the worst division in baseball now that even the AL and NL west have a few good teams. our 1st place team would be 4th in the AL east.

Man oh man that is terrible but you are right... Frustrating that we can't get back to .500 or win at home right now..

Dodgers win 7-6 to help the kittens..I just noticed that the Royals are a game behind us now...

I suppose it takes some of the sting away from tonight's loss.

Chicago now has the worst June record among the Central teams.

KC hasn't played all that bad lately, in fact they're 11-7 in their last 18.

Things are looking up since the White Sox can't win consistently enough to create distance.

So far, Detroit won, KC and Minny lost. The Pirates are stomping the Indians, that game is almost over.

White Sox play the late game, we could find ourselves 3 games back after tonight.

fudge Billingsly is get ripped and is down 3-0 and the sox have runners on and no outs.... we posted they were leading last night and the dodgers came back and won....

Dodgers just got hosed by the umpires... Game should be 1-1... Another umpire out of position or not even paying attention to the call he made..
He said the runner left early at third and replay shows it was not even close and the Sox tried the appeal play and it worked.. That umpire was not even looking at the runners foot at all..

Everyone rejoice, the Tigers are closer to 2nd place now instead of 4th place.

Here's some really odd records for you.

Everyone in the AL Central is below .500 at home, the best is Cleveland at 17-18.

The Tigers are 17-17 on the road which gives them the 4th best road record in the division.

Glad the dodgers won... they should ahve won in the ninth... Tigers inch closer!!!!! yes!!!

I know we should be happy with a 6-3 mark in the last 9 games but we all know it should have been better...
Baby steps I guess.

Tigers and Twins off

Chicago starts their series with their cross-town rival, hopefully the Cubs don't lay down for that

Cleveland starts another series with the Reds, who swept them last week in Cincinnati.

KC starts a series with Houston, but who really cares?

Back and forth affair in Cleveland right now. Tied with Cincy 7-7 in the 6th. No further incident between Lowe and Baker to report...
