I saw Youk get a triple late with Boston, taken out for a PR and the whole team gave him hugs and then he disappeared into the dugout. Obviously they all knew before he batted he was being traded. They usually don't let them do that. Got a standing O from the crowd, it was surreal.

From what I understand listening to Valentine was Youk was in the hole when the news was given to Valentine. Youk might have already been in the on deck circle by then. Either way a nice moment for him.

dempster would be cheaper, and id still rather have him once he's off the DL than garza. realistically i dont want us trading for pitching at all because that really hasnt been the problem, the offense has. we need outfielders, a 2nd baseman, and a DH (or at least one or 2 of those because getting 4 players is quite unrealistic).

I don't see them signing an outfielder or a DH. Now that Berry adds a different dimension I don't think they'll make that move. Dirks would help if he could make it back. VMart may be back in August so DH won't happen either. 2B would be nice but what can you get?

i also really dont know who might be out there (DD knows more than us and might surprise us with something), but i also know that those are our needs rather than starting pitching. they dont view berry as a starter (nor should they) so they might make a move for an OF even when dirks comes back. if we get vmart back in august we wont need a DH so i agree they likely wont go for a DH-only type.
