David DeJesus gets 2 yrs $10 mil + club option with the cubs?
Is it really gonna be another one of "those" off-seasons?
Outfield defense, good baserunner, pretty good obp, some pop in bat.
should be all healed from thumb injury.

Raburn is better...sarcasm button off.

goddamnit. DD should have non-tendered young and gotten dejesus. why cant he sometimes do the sensible thing? he's gonna kill us with his crap obp and horrible defense this year, and noone will take him in a trade...ugh.

Not sure why we didn't get more interested in DeJesus. I still think we'll see a big trade made this offseason.

You guys sound like DD didn't look at him, or why he signed with the Cubs and not 29 other teams. I think you're over reaching here.

On the bright side....At least he's in the other league now! He killed us.

Tigers play the cubs for 3 games in June.

DeJesus info.
I was wondering that as I posted. Ah well, he would have looked great in a Tiger uniform.....And for 5 mil per, would have looked even better.

You're right pal. $5M per season and above average outfield defense in left/center/right the story says 1700 innings at each position.
Guess DD wants stumble feet Young and Mudhen instead.
I see 2 aspirins in my immediate future.

Damn it, why didn't DD go after Ryan Braun, that's just fk'd up. Hey look at that I can do it too.

Not a FA, but you knew that.
I just hoped that DD would try to land him. good all around player, good team friendly price too.

I'm just wondering why no one thinks that Maybe DD did look at him. Maybe he offered 6m, maybe he just wanted to be a Cub. Maybe he said F'off Detroit. We don't know but to get on DD for this is going over board a bit.

i think its almost certain he didnt because of his stated desire to keep young.

2 months after his 31 birthday, baseball we're talking about, isn't young? That's perfect.

huh? you weren't specific, but maybe you were directing that at me, or maybe others. not sure...
I can only speak for myself, and again reiterate, I'm not mad at DD, I am just wondering why after playing against him with royals and knowing his game a bit better, than say players on teams outside the AL Central, why there wasn't any mention of DeJesus from DD through the Tigers media, Beck, freep, mlive, detnews, etc.

No, it wasn't directed at you oR any indiviual for that matter. Maybe I flipped at Spock's post and a couple others where it sounds like "same old Tigers, DD messed up etc". DD might be blamed for somethings like Inge contract for one but we don't know what he did or didn't do.

I referred to the wrong player, my bad.

if we start the season with young on the roster and starting, he DID mess up. i dont care who he gets replaced with, dejesus just would have been a great option and all signs pointed to DD not even inquiring about him or showing any interest whatsoever even though he probably should have.

IDK. I think Jimbo has a lot to do with keeping players or letting them go. If he likes a guy they stay. And he seems to like Delmon. I bet it killed him to demote Inge. My take on Delmon is that it will tell alot about how this team thinks if they decide to keep him. And if they do, it ain't good.

exactly. two of the better teams in terms of player development in the twins and rays have given up on him because he sucks, yet we (the team, whether DD, leyland or both) seem to think he's the shit. something's not right here.
