Get Startedhey tony....the sky is blue.
ur seriously trying to argue that blowing up a fullback without the ball that is 60 lbs less than him when he goes unblocked is "highlight" material? seriously????
And you're the one who analyzes a Dlinemen on sacks and sacks alone if i can remember. I could be wrong but i doubt it. That alone is ignorance bonafide. So it doesnt surprise me that you never even seen an ounce of talent on Ansah's tape.
Sad....
Never ever said de's should only be judged by sacks lol.
in regards to avril....maybe..... cause that was his only job. He had 1 v 1 his entire tenure here. Or did you think him flying up field and getting tossed was good for the run defense?
Never said i never saw an ounce of talent on ansahs tape. I said the first 2 minutes of THAT highlight tape was pathedic as far as a "highlight" tape goes. The fact youre arguing that is effing histerical lmao. I give you props though.....i coulda swore you were going to argue that the sky is blue. /clap
Mitch, defending the Triple Option is all about Assignment Football. He should solid discipline in this. If he goes after the guy who ends up running 50 yards, then he is undisciplined. That guy is someone else's responsibility. If you play against the Triple Option and start deviating from your assignment, they will eat you alive. Every guy on D has their specific assignment and if one single guy fails to do his job the O gets big gains, that is why the teams who run the Triple Option are so effective despite huge size matchup problems. The Academies run that and when they have a QB who is extremely good they win enough games to make a Bowl and have even won some of those Bowl Games. And don't underestimate the OL being taught how to cut block like no other teams cut block. The DL have to adjust to that blocking scheme and learn how to avoid the cut block, something more fail to do than succeed.
The fact Ansah blew up his guy every play, whether he had the ball or not, is actually a very big positive. It shows focus, athleticism at not being cut block, discipline, and ability to do his job effectively.
None of this is a guarantee that he will be successful in the NFL, but people who understand the difficulties in playing vs Triple Option will recognize he played extremely well in a very difficult situation with limited practice time against a unique O that he had not seen before and would not see after.

I say suhs sack numbers are down....you see that i base all dts on their sack numbers? Youre starting to make me think humans evolved from monkeys.
I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or if you are just that ignorant.
It's nothing amazing, just game tape footage of him during a game. He played well. More importantly, he did what he was told to do. It's a team game, not an individual game. He didn't play poorly at all, and he didn't play anything out of this world.
Let's say he doesn't do what he's told and just goes after the ball. Don't you think the OC isn't going to realize that and game plan around it? He should. Instead the tape would show Ziggy struggling and being abused.
Damn, people...
This isnt a hightlight film its honeslty a scouting film and should be identified as such. You see the guy learning the triple option during the game and completely shutting down the full back who is the most dangerous guy in a triple option. He played smart and fast and gave BYU the ability to win. If you dont know football or understand the Dline positions than you wont like this. You can like football and not like this highlight I just wont ever listen to anything you say about football because it shows you are clueless.
Because I don't like the 1 1/2 minutes of the "highlight reel" in which you agree, Its not a highlight reel. Yeah, you're the smart one :hehe:
