Get StartedI used to think Harbaugh was going to make it tougher for us to compete in the B1G and maybe he has but that has almost nothing to do with what's happening with the program. The reason we're losing all these games is that we're putting an absolute garbage product on the field. the record of MSU teams harbaugh has beaten is a combined 14-20 (so far). These teams would lose to Hoke and Rich Rod uofm teams. If Dantonio knack is coaching up lesser talent, he's lost his touch.
I was a little disappointed when my nephew who was raised in East Lansing by 2 Spartan parents chose OSU over MSU (he's a freshman) but he is going to get a great education and have a lot more fun every fall than he would if he'd stayed closer to home. He assures me he's going to remain a big MSU hoops fan but he's all-in for the Buckeyes for football - and I dont blame him.
Agreed. Rich Rod and Hoke used to beat msu out on the guys they wanted too. That's no different now. Msu isn't bad because UM is better. Msu is bad because msu is bad
Dantonio should only be allowed to return if he replaces his entire staff. His reorganization idea has been a failure. Time to get some new, up and coming small school talent in here.
I heard a theory on ESPNU yesterday. Their theory was he didn't / doesn't want to fire his guys and hire a new staff because he is about to retire. That makes sense to me.
...
But that doesn't explain why he didn't fire any of them 3 years ago.
You remind me of the Michigan fans who made excuse after excuse for RichRod, and blamed his truly atrocious defenses all on his DCs. They never liked answering the question "Who hired the DC?"
sounds like somebody watched There's Something About Mary last night.
you remind me of Warren from There's Something About Mary.
I've been critical of several of Dantonio's hires and I've said the poor choices he's made in hiring and not firing are a big part of why he's a good but not great coach. And I've also made the point that as the head coach he deserves his share of the blame, particularly for what's happened with the defense lately since that's his background in coaching. But you found one sentence where I didn't include all that so obviously, I don't think Dantonio has any culpability in all this - nice job Warren.
Edit: by the way, have you come up with that list of Dantonio's 4 main competitors that were all "blowing up" to explain why he had no competition when he was having success?
The day they hired Jim Bollman I remember researching him and questioning it big time and seemingly being in the minority of MSU fans against it
