Avril gone?

Found this in a Pats blog:

March 25-28: Annual NFL Owners Meeting, Palm Beach FL

March 26: Compensatory Draft Picks Announced.

March 26: With compensatory picks announced, the full order of all draft picks will be finalized.

EDIT -- my bad, above was from 2012. Still, expect comp pick announcements in March.

Remember though, comp picks happen the next year. Wright left last year, we get pick this so so Avril's comp pick with be next season. Just in case someone didn't know..

Maybe someone with the stats can look up the validity of my argument here, but my bet is Avril shows a lack of discipline vs mobile QBs. Are his sack totals skewed to where he is onlybgood vs pocket passers?

Just seems to me with his one dimensional rushing style a mobile QB exposes him even more. Granted mobile QBs tend to expose most DLs, but I'm thinking Avril is exposed more than most because he lacks the ability to play well vs run. Maybe I am wrong though.

He got Vick twice, Rodgers twice and Cutler once last year for 5 out of 9.5 sacks.

Cutler twice the year before but nobody else really mobile out of the 11.

Read an article on bleacher report listing the top 10 free agents sure to be overpaid.

Cliff came in at #2 just behind Mike Wallace. They said he may get a deal around 6yr 68 mil. No way is he worth even close to that.

Can't speak for the Vikes but the Bears and Packers have horrible offensive lines.

Cutlers sack totals are pretty near the Kitna numbers when Martz was in control. Something like 100 plus in the last two years.

Avril will start in Cleveland if he goes there. Meaning, we should get a nice comp pick.

yet another one of our guys clowning on how mayhew handles things.

Cliff Avril - DL - Lions Free agent DE Cliff Avril says he's "not really talking" with the Lions.
"Maybe they will make a strong push, or we'll make a push with them," Avril said. "I don't know if that's their way of doing things, but we haven't been talking." Avril also reiterated he'd be willing to play outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense. In his prime and keeping his options open, Avril is going to earn a major payday.

Wherever he goes he's going to start, with the money he's going to get even if it's less that what he thinks he's worth. He'll start.

In this situation I don't think that's the case though. Do you thinks its a good idea for Mayhew to talk with Avril and make a "big push"? Avril priced himself out of the Detroit Lions. What's to talk about?

So you want Avril back? To me it sounds like Avril is bitter because we aren't going big after him. Yeah Mayhew why won't you pay Avril 12 mil a year you moron.........

LMFAO. Avril was clowning nobody. Avril thinks he's worth 12 million, Mayhew thinks he's worth 10 million or less. Mayhew is right even if Avril gets overpaid at 12 million per year by some other team.

"i dont know if thats there way of doing things"

its a shot at mayhew....sure it may just be a jab.....but its a shot at mayhew.

I don't know if that was a jab and even if it was, it wasn't much of one.
