B1G Power Rankings

I was curious to see what information you had (online obviously) about Ed Martin's relationship with the basketball program pre-dating Fisher.

from Jalen Rose's comments, it sounds like Ed Martin was giving money to pretty much every kid in Detroit who could play basketball, so of course, that alone isn't really an indictment of Michigan basketball or Bill Frieder.

you just keep mentioning the rumors and allegations without substance. I can't stop you from believing whatever you want to believe, but I'm curious if any hard evidence of collusion between Frieder & Ed Martin was ever revealed publicly. sounds like no.

Personally, I do not care about Big Ten power rankings, only things specific to the University of Michigan. But you guys can ignore me and keep shining eachother's knobs about being #1 in the "Big Ten power rankings" (in maybe the weakest Big Ten of most of our lifetimes) if you want.
The thread was started by an osu fan.

As for martin, he gave money to kids that went to Syracuse and a few other places but there were records of phone calls from the um athletic department to Martin. He used to get free tickets to games and travel with the team, he was very close to the program. He did give money to cleaves up until he decided to go to msu.

I know you don't like to believe this because it's your beloved Alma matter but it was the biggest pay for play scandal in cbb history. The smart thing would be to just say it happened and your not proud of it hut you're happy with where the program is now. Instead a lot of michigan fans want to downplay it or say that it happens everywhere to this degree. Quite a prideful bunch.

Updated for week 8. http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post...power-rankings-week-8-6?ex_cid=espnapi_public

Was in stands for OSU/Rutgers, by the way. Was surprised/impressed by how well Rutgers traveled. Good folks, happy to be in B1G. Hit The Varsity Club prior to tailgate and bought a couple of rounds to congratulate the travelers on their thrashing of Blue. Was all in good fun, of course, and they loved it!
