Baldwin has second round tender

I say sign him. Draft Gilbert in the first and move that 2nd rounder to Seattle. Doug Baldwin is better than any receive we can draft in the 2nd round.

I hate to be that guy but I will say it as politely as I can. If you would want to give up a 2nd to sign Baldwin you should never watch football again, find another sport. Players like him are a dime a dozen in the NFL, but everyone gets caught up on the Superbowl he had when he beat a 35 year old champ bailey all day like a drum.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

Cool. Now I'll say it as politely as I can...

Your opinion is about as valuable to me as a Matt Millen draft pick. I have yet to see you post a single shred of intelligence in any thread you have participated in.

You will not achieve whatever "status" you are looking for in this thread with your continued mindless drivel and petty insults, but you are feel free to continue to try.

I on the other hand will do something far more interesting that worry about what you think... like maybe watching my grass grow in Arizona.

The super bowl is NOT y i want him. I've wanted him for a while

The only thing I like about Doug Baldwin is how he called Cris Carter out after the Super Bowl. That was awesome.

As far as there not being any WR in the 2nd round better than Baldwin, nobody can say that with certainty especially considering how deep the WR talent is in this draft.

I wouldn't be mad if the Lions did it but I wouldn't be happy either. If they have no faith in themselves to evaluate talent in the draft, I guess go for it.

Hes not enough to improve Stafford. I equate Baldwin to if we signed lance moore. A good #3. Not worth a 2nd round pick imo....more worth a 2nd round pick than broyles was....but still not worth a 2nd round pick.

The way I look at it Mayhew will fk up our 2nd round pick anyway so why not..?

Mr. Negativity back at it.

It's fact. Tell me his 2nd round successes? Call it bad luck, injury or whatever the 2nd round picks have been a disaster. That's not being negative..

It is negativity when you're predicting it'll happen again. Plus, now we have Xanders. Slay wasn't a bad pick. CBs take a couple years to develop and he showed promise at times. Even if you don't trust Mayhew, I don't see a reason to doubt Xanders, especially in a draft where some of this year's 2nd rounders would be 1st rounders in past years.

I am not about to get into yet another pointless argument about which picks were bad, which were crappy, bad luck, injuries, etc...

But he is right on one point Mitch, accepting the past happened is accepting fact. Predicting it will continue to happen is negativity.

In all fairness to Mitch though, when history is used as a measuring stick, there is plenty of reason to be negative.

History is on my side. I don't want it to happen, but its not like we've been saddled with great GM. We go from Millen to his little brother. When we get a second round pick that is good for a number of years I'll change my tune. In fact when we get a second round pick that is average for a number of years..

I wouldn't call it negativity.....I would call it being smart. People everyday use history and the past to reasonably predict what is going to happen in the future. FOr example....I moved to san diego cause the weather has always been nice here. ANd BOOM!....its been nice ever since. Mitch sees that we cant draft worth a lick for the last 20 years...its not unreasonable to think it will continue....on the contrary itd be unreasonable to predict anything other than that. Making a rational, reasonably prediction using facts based on the past is not negative.

I like the San Diego analogy. Just when I moved to Arizona, I knew based on history it would be beautiful for parts of the year and hot as fk the others parts.

So in this analogy would Detroit be Detroit?

Mayhew has enough hits in free agency and the other rounds that the lions have plenty of talent. Plus you exaggerate the 2nd round. Plenty of talent 2nd round talent but lots of other factors that stripped the lions and fans from enjoying that talent for many years. And mayhew can replace people well. Bush Quin waddle Ansah the list will grow.

You are taking a good gm for granted.
