Get StartedWow, how does Biggio not get in. 3000 hits isn't a magic number anymore? Is he tainted? What am I missing?
It is only a 1st ballot issue. If you look at all the guys who got in on the1st ballot, Biggio doesn't belong in that group.
I'm not saying it's right but just the way it is.
Makes no sense at all. "Yeah you deserve it but we're all too anal to vote for you the first time". Lol.
Fact is, he got near 70%, if he can get that many first time through why not more?
Look at the list. Biggio is not in that group. I agree he shouldn't have gotten in. 1st ballot election is reserved for the elite of the hall of fame.

Every other player with 3000 hits, other than Palmerio and Rose, got in on the first ballot. I have no problem putting Biggio in the same class as Yount.
Bottom line is, if you think a guy is worthy, really worthy why are they waiting a year? Or two? "Oh yeah, he's hall worthy but lets make him wait" Lol.

While I agree it is asinine, I completely understand reserving something special for the truly greats of the game.
If they could do a star system and eliminate 1st ballot nonsense, it would be great. But to say Biggio belongs in the same class as Ruth or Mays is not right.
Dude, if guys like Ozzie can get 90% 1st time Biggio should get in.
And Tom, because Tram didn't get 3000 hits.
