Best Likely to Land on PUP List

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Jahvid Best (concussions) is likely to open the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
Being placed on PUP would sideline Best for at least the first six games. The Lions will likely have to rely on Kevin Smith and one of Joique Bell or Keiland Williams early in the season, with Mikel Leshoure suspended the first two weeks. Best has yet to be cleared to return to practice, and is working his way back from multiple concussions. With no guarantee of playing football this season (or in the future), Best will be difficult to pick in fantasy drafts. Look for Smith to comfortably lead Detroit's backfield in 2012 touches.

How has that decision been made yet? Still several weeks in preseason

Used cars...very Used cars...off the backlot...at the junk yard.

If he's still having problems, I think he is better off not playing in 2012, if ever again. He was a risky pick and it is proving to have been a miss by Mayhew. Far better to let him rest up longer and see if he has the ability to take a hit again, but it doesn't look good.

If we get anything out of Best its a bonus. And once Smith trips over a blade of grass and Leschoure smokes another doob. Just pass and keep on passing.

27 PPG with Best (not counting defensive scores)
26 PPG without Best (not counting defensive scores)

Smith/LeShoure can handle it. That's actually still better than last year.

Give me better run D and more discipline and maintain that explosive passing offense.

So, what are the chances he plays this season? or the rest of his career?

From various reports I heard last year his family urged him to retire.

I'd side with your family, Jahvid. You don't want to wind up another Seau.

Football isn't worth your life.

Is that in Madden '13???

I would LOVE to hear Gruden try to explain to me how I just killed Jahvid Best by letting him come back from his 9th concussion of the year.

No reason for this kid to play ever again. He's stupid if he does. If you're not ready to play yet after 10 months from your last concussion (and this is now his 3rd or 4th in his career) than it is time to call it quits forever. He won't even have to be hit hard to suffer another one. Too bad the NFL can't force him to retire in this instance. Go live your life dude....it didn't work out for you in the NFL. Too bad though, you had talent.

Glad we over looked his concussion concerns when we drafted him because it was a "freak" play.... As per hughes it was a very millenesque pick.

That 2010 draft is looking weaker by the day

Suh and Willie Young are looking like the only ones worth something on this team.

Best's status is unknown but not looking good.

Spievey...I'll let the board speak for that one.

Has Jason Fox ever been healthy?

Tim Toone, lol

09' was solid with staff, pettigrew, delmas, (maybe levy but i think he sucks)

10' wasnt very good. Im not going to give credit for Suh...when youre picking that high you better hit. Ive been a consistent Spievey/Best hater...so needless to say i didnt like our draft.

11' could possibly have more total arrests then total games played lmao.

At least '12 is showing some promise but obviously verdict is still out until next year at earliest.

Still Mayhew is exponentially better than Millen, but chances ate good a blind deaf quadruple amputeed squirrel would have better luck finding a nut than Millen. Cj does not count as he wasn't a Millen pick in all honesty.
