Bo probably acted the same way most head coaches would from his era, which is the problem. The culture back then was pretty pathetic. Most HCs acted as some moral authority, but when the rubber hit the road with things like sexual assault, they did jack shit to prevent the continuation of abuse. Bo could have stopped Anderson at the drop of the hat. He had all the power in the AD and he did nothing. It's not as if he wasn't completely aware. Hell, position coaches were openly using the threat of visiting Dr. Anderson as "motiviation". It was a failure by Bo, the entire coaching staff, and the AD as a whole.
Not saying that Bo is some embodiment of evil, but he should not be lionized on campus. There's no reason to keep up his statue or to keep the name Schembechler Hall.
