Brett Kavanaugh

He googled it though, and got his JD from Internet Law School, so he's probably right.

says the LAWYER who doesnt know the difference between larceny, burglary and robbery. you just cant help stepping in your own shit can you. youre so pathetic.

real question, have you ever watched a confirmation hearing before? they NEVER give straight answers, even when quizzed about their judicial philosophies. if thats the standard, the whole panel is unfit.

Yes. Always frustrating. But the questions about do you want an FBI investigation set a new bar. They can always dodge the judicial stuff and say they won't answer hypotheticals, but Kavanaugh tried to sell his desire for a hearing as an answer to the FBI investigation question. He tried to conflate the two. That's the stuff I see from talking heads on politics shows. Political garbage.

BK calling out the Democrats for being partisan is pretty funny considering he was picked by a purely partisan group. He will vote partisan and do nothing but protect this sitting president.
It is what the GOP has been waiting for all these years. Fuck workers. Fuck women. Fuck the Environment. Fuck the Other 99%. Fuck the Pre-existing conditions of people. Fuck voters rights. Gerrymandering will be protected.. Presidential powers will be increase so Trump can break more laws in office.
Get ready to go back to the 19th century America !!

didnt he say go ahead and investigate in his testimony?

but the fbi investigation question was stupid to begin with. first the fbi doesnt even invetigate sex crimes - or at least not routinely. second, there is no crime scene or forensic evidence to investigate. all the FBI could do is interview a guy they've already done 6 background checks on, a victim who doesnt remember anything and a handful of witnesses who have already testified they dont remember anything like what was described or said it didnt happen.

either way, the whole thing has become a circus stunt to give the Dems something else to complain about and create doubt about kavanaugh. i dont blame him or find him or Republicans at all unreasonable for not wanting to submit to this never ending shit show.

I'll give you this...you are consistent, you never add anything new to a political discussion.

I now see why you edit nearly all of your posts.

Not in the questioning I saw. He wanted it to look that way. He said he do whatever the committee decided and he said he wanted a hearing.

Would you recommend an investigation?

I want a hearing. I want to cooperate. I'll do what the committee wants.

But would you recommend an investigation?

I already said I want a hearing.

Still, the point stands - this has become a circus, he's already had 6 in depth background checks, there's literally nothing to investigate (no crime scene, no forensic evidence and pretty much 0 chance any potential witness who hasn't already testified under penalty of perjury).

This is literally a circus and a concerted effort to cast doubt in voters eyes because they have nothing on him other than their hatred for him, his judicial philosophy, President Trump or all of the above. Or they are hoping against hope that the investigation will turn up something else unrelated to Blasey Ford, who will get dropped like a hot potato if that happens. But again, this guy has been through 6 background checks already so good luck with that one.

the fact that he doesn't want an investigation isn't telling in any way.

It isn't telling with regard to the circus part of things. It is telling with regard to his instincts towards law and logic vs. partisan BS that he answers as he does.

Coming from UFO and info wars guy that is funny bad sadly what I am saying is true about Trump and this new unqualified judge. Trump us so corrupt it is not even funny anymore.

Don't read this. it's just about another stupid idiot libtard turd (to use attorney spartanmack's "legal reasoning" AKA kindergarten name-calling) that thinks Kavanaugh is simply not qualified to be on the Supreme Court.

in case you're too thick to look it up, Stevens was a Ford appointed.

How hard can it be to find a judge that won't be worried about "revenge on behalf of the Clintons" to the point they bring it up in a prepared opening statement?

yep, we agree that it is telling with regard to his instincts toward law and logic. and it's perfectly logical not to want to submit to an investigation that will do nothing but waste time and money for the purpose of partisan grand standing.

says the guy who once again started the name calling. By the way Scoop, Kennedy was shot and we landed on the moon.

by the way, is this one of those instances where we're supposed to listen to rich old white guys? It sounds like that's what you're saying. But it's tough - I have to admit I get so confused about when we're supposed to dismiss them off hand because they're rich, old and white and when we're supposed to listen to them. If only there was some demonstrable pattern or correlation that could clue us in as to when to listen and when to simply shut them down due to their identity.

That doesn't remotely reflect how he answered though.

So what's going on - I haven't really focused on this too much. Might just watch Damon again..

it's hard to say what his reasoning is but it's not unreasonable to say that's it.

It may not be unreasonable, but it is irrelevant. His motivation for what we assume is his position isn't really relevant to a criticism of his instinct to dodge the question as a politician would rather than as a judge.

FBI investigation uncovered no new corroborating evidence. Dems say the investigation was insufficient. Some protests have popped up. Key votes have not said what they will do. Republican leadership appear confident Kavanaugh will be confirmed.
