Caldwell hired

Not good. These sought after guys going to other teams is weird, Stafford, supposedly our biggest asset seems to be turning people off. Or was this about 'money' again.

You talked to Lazor yourself and Stafford was the reasoning why he took the Dolphins job? Jesus Christ.

Kind of interesting to watch the fan reaction

In Detroit, seems like half the fanbase hates the Caldwell hire, many are indifferent, and some love it

In Minnesota, everyone loves the Zimmer hire

And yet we finish 3 with two QB out. Unless Caldwell is a Bill Parcells clone, I see us at best finishing 3rd. Again.

We beat Bears(with Culter/McCown twice) and Packers. Once with Bears having a healthy defense. Falcons and Cowboys had their own problems losing to Flynn with just Nelson and Jones and Lacy. McCown did well other than against at Rams and at Vikings with having all the Bears 4 big weapons healthy. Could have been losses anway. Cutler lost to Eagles and Packers with Rodgers and Cutler/McCown lost to us with a 3-5 finish.

Bears are an 8-8 team. Tillman and Melton might never be back. Briggs they still lost to Eagles/packers. They ahve a decision to make on Peppers.

Lions missing Calvin for 2 away divisional games, Pettigrew for 2 and Bush for 2.5 matches Cutler/Rodgers out.

2-6 finish didn't cut it for Detroit. If we go 4-2 in the divison again next year, Lions have a great shot for division and playoffs. Schwartz/Linehan were supposedly the worst coaches in the world. Improve on 7 wins.

And Bears by the way lost to Kellen Clemens and Matt Cassel and beat Seneca Wallace Packers. It was backup against backup in all those games and still a Bears loss. Week 17 both starters played. Week 16 Cutler played. And Week 10 Cutler played against us and McCown led a great drive, just stuffed Forte on the 2 point.

Hopefully it will all work out.. Maybe JC can work miracles... I do not want Scott L. back and is there any word on hiring that rat Jim Tre$$el?

A Bill Parcells clone??? Again, your knowledge of the football world is phenomenal. They're polar opposites of each other. lol. As a person and their football styles.

Maybe this will make you feel better. We just dug up Vince Lombardi and he's our new HC his OC is Mike Martz (greatest show on turf), Buddy Ryan is our new DC. Feel better now?

Who are the OC candidates out there we are considering still? Seems strange that we hired Caldwell with no idea who his OC might be.

This seems bizarre, only the Lions could have this happen to them.

You have to wonder about Stafford after this. Maybe the rest of the NFL does not see the talent we do.

Those were the days. We underperformed then too.

Lions often had a dilemma or controversy @ QB, putting in the backup who was usually good for a win or two b/c both the backup and the starter were often close in "talent" and ability. Morrall/Plum, Plum/Sweetan, Plum/Munson, Munson/Landry. Landry/Danielson, Danielson/Hipple, Peete/Kramer, Peete/Mitchell. Mitchell/Majkowski, Batch/Frerotte, Harrington'/Garcia Wasn't until Kitna was acquired that the QB carousel finally stopped. Of course now Stafford will likely never be yanked from a game or benched, mostly b/c of his huge $$alary, and only if he becomes badly injured ala the '10 season, being replaced by Hill, who later in the season was replaced by Stanton. Culley - WR coach from KC, has worked with Reid for a long time. Christensen - QB coach from Indy. Was the OC under Caldwell but got demoted when Caldwell got the boot.

I am starting to wonder why coaches are picking spots that seem to have less talent.
