Caldwell voted 27th best coach in NFL

Caldwell gave the Jets an extra play to get much closer, and turn a difficult FG into basically a chip shot for kickers.

10-4 with a win at Chicago then Week 16 I'd accept too. We did sweep them last year with all our problems. But I'll roll with 11-3.
but if we're holeless, then why are you predicting that we'll lose games? by your logic, we should be 19-0 and SB champs... why are we even playing this year then?

No he didn't. They just spike it instead after the short run. He gave his defense a chance to regroup. The defense didn't execute. A big play could still have easily happened. Jets let the time run down to 3. They could have easily spiked, had time for a big play on 3rd down and then called their last time out.

And like I said icing the kicker can backfire.

And now all of a sudden Manning knows everything but when he tells everyone Caldwell made him, you don't beleive that. Typical negative misinformed "fans". You guys are so contradictory.

Holeless but NFL still tough. We could shoot ourselves in the foot 3 times just not 9.

that seems impossible based on what you've been saying this whole thread.

you're just giving yourself enough room to wiggle out of a jam. you predict a record, but give an out if something happens.
be a man and stick to your guns.
make a prediction and stand by it with NO ands, ifs or buts.
put your money where your mouth is.

Dumbass I predicted 3 losses. We are more talented than every team. Shooting ourselves in the foot can cause 3 losses. It just won't cost us many like last year and we won't have the injuries, bad recovery rates etc either. And many of the turnovers were good player fumbling or lack of separation. We added better weapons and coaching. Turnovers will be reduced.

I have never contradicted anything. You morons just can't put it all together.

I don't know...Matt Stafford is the Plaxico Burress of NFL QBs

Plaxico only had one shot and ruined one season. So now Stafford time to shine in 2014. Really wasn't Stafford's fault anyway when you watch the tape.

Please see post #127 to see one of several contradictions in this thread alone.

I look forward to our 11-3 start with no excuses for injuries/refs/weather. Should be exciting!

No contradiction by me. You just didn't understand what I was saying.

Those are valid excuses for losses but they won't happen to the Lions.

I don't even think you watched the game. The Jets were going to center the ball, get lined up for a long FG attempt. That's why Tomlinson ran the ball up the gut. But instead, Caldwell snatched the jaws of defeat from a potential victory, gave the Jets time to breathe and set up another play. And so they did. And that's why they won. His timeout was a piss poor decision. Try and talk to another human that understands football that agrees with what he did.

Jets would have just spiked and had time for two more plays. It gave Indy time to set their defense. But their defense failed. They were already in field goal range. The time out did not matter in the loss. The time out should have prevented the 18 yard gainer but it didn't. That 18 yard gainer could have happened anyways.

They were centering the freaking ball, and were going to let the clock run out for a long FG attempt. If they had any urgency in their play calling, Tomlinson would not have been running up the gut to center the ball. What don't you get in this?

They would have had a chance to pass still after the spike. They weren't going to run the ball again after it's already centered. They would have passed the ball and if it's incomplete. Oh well, then kick the long FG.

the 18 yarder still could have happened on 3rd down.

I'll repost it since you are the one who fails to understand their own backwards logic:

Statement 1: If it happens to the Lions it can be a reason why they lost. I just don't see it happening.

Statement 2: There is a 0% chance it happens.

In statement 1 you are allowing for the possibility of injuries/bad luck to be an excuse for Lions losses this season. You just don't SEE it happening, which implies that it could in fact happen.

Statement 2 you say there is 0% chance which contradicts statement 1. Sorry logic fail.

Never mind how ridiculous it is to claim that there is a 0% chance of bad weather or bad refs or a string of injuries

It's not allowing for anything. I said it can be an excuse for any team. Just stating a fact that those things are a reason for losses. Not talking about Detroit in that scenario.

I am 100% sure they will have the injury advantage, get proper reffing and have proper recovery rates this year despite the last 2 years of injuries, bad refs and bad recovery rates. And especially it won't be all 3 going against us.

Yes you are talking about Detroit...it's in black and white type right in front of all our faces...

"If it happens to the LIONS, it can be a reason that they lost"

Any team not just the Lions. I had said any team several times. I was just giving an example. There is 0% chance of it happening to the Lions. Especially all 3 at once again.
