Call the men in white coats

I commend you on having an opinion on the matter...that's a rarity lately on this board. Now Tate just needs to catch 80 balls and be a 1k yard WR for him to produce at a level hes getting paid at. If not, then a 500k rookie would have been just fine....no big deal....we'll see how it works out. Im still weary that Stafford can get another WR not named CJ 1k yards. And if Watkins ends up being the pick....you would have been better off burning all the money in a house fire that you paid Tate....atleast insurance would have covered some of that loss.

Here is the thing, if we are putting up 35 points a game I could care less why. If we get Watkins and the backs blow it up because they are facing 6 man fronts all game...then I dont care if Tate only goes for 750 yards. Its not all about the numbers they put up but also the missmatches they create.

You blast Mayhew for picking shitty WR's every year in the draft then bitch about when he actually signs a good one instead of having to go into the draft looking for a #2 WR that he has been screwing up it seems every year.... Because it is a FACT that a 500k a year guy is going to put up the same numbers that Tate is going to, because we all know Mayhews track record on picking WR and there is no way he can mess that up right?!?!?! And if Watkins is the pick, this offense SHOULD BE pretty unstoppable, and then we can pick all defense after that depending on how many picks we have left. Now I personally don't want Watkins and never think giving up picks in a draft is a good idea, but we shall see what happens with the draft, Watkins, and Tate soon enough.

that's all fine and dandy if tate ends up being a "good one." but he was outplayed by 2 UDFAs by the end of last year which made him expendable. Decent GMs base your value on your production....which is why SEA offered him peanuts. Cause the guys making peanuts on their team can produce at the same rate he did. So sure....if he ends up being a "good one" then ill praise mayhew for the signing the same way I praised him for the bush signing. If Tate sucks....then ill tell you mayhew blows and Stafford cant get it done....

Fair enough, just sucks we have soooo much more time to debate about it before he can prove one or the other haha

gotta argue this. "proved his worth" is debatable since Kearse and Baldwin stepped up huge to the point that SEA, who has a very strong front office from owner to GM, actually thought Tate was worth nothing now that they had UDFAs producing just as much as he was. So much so in fact, that they even resigned Sidney Rice who was injured all of last year instead of Tate. Its true he probably priced himself out of SEA and its obvious tate wants to get paid on his first contract post rookie deal...most guys would. But to say he proved his worth is stretching it considering SEA didn't think he was worth it to even offer him a discount deal. They offered him a laughable worse than hometown discount deal....a slap in the face type deal. You don't find it odd that we were like the only team involved with him? We offered him a deal he couldn't pass up....which in my opinion means mayhew over paid for him. It only takes 1 dummy.....mayhew is that dummy more often than not...

Of course the Seahawks offered him peanuts. They can't afford him!! That's a team based on their defense and still have to pay guys like Wilson and Sherman who will be asking for astronomical contracts. Tate was expendable...that's a good thing for us. Tate has played well the last couple of years in a run-first offense and oroved to be a playmaker. You stated the Seahawks offered him a slap in the face type deal...hoping he'd bite maybe? He told them to fk off and good for him and US.

And to say the Lions were the only team involved in him is total bullshit. In his interview with the media, he stated he had a couple of more visits to make but it shit snow and his plane was delayed. Giving the Lions time to work out a deal with his agent. Don't get it twisted, bro...

80 balls and 1000 yards or it's a failure, right?? Of course...i expect nothing less from you. Don't factor in how his presence could factor into another player excelling in this offense. Why would you do that, right? lmao. You're a lost cause, buddy.....

So what do you guys expect/think we will see from Fauria this season? The kid showed some great hands, he was targeted 30 times, caught 18 for 207 yds, 7 td's, 1 2pt conv and 14 1st downs. will he thrive with an increased workload or fizzle?

yaaaa...im sure teams are going to bracket him and let CJ go 1 v1 . Teams never cover pettidrop anyways cause they know hes just going to fall down after 6 yards. Bush was already wide open all year last year....were the dump down champions of the NFC north. Tates going to get 1v1 all year and he needs to produce or yes....the signing is a failure. I cant believe were ALREADY getting the excuses to why hes not able to produce lmao....its ridiculous. He gets paid like a top FA WR....produce like a top FA WR....its that easy.

Whatever, bud. lol. I never said teams were going to bracket Tate. You're fucked for even thinking I was implying it. All I was saying is that he's another playmaker on the field who takes pressure off guys like Bush/Bell/Fauria/Pettigrew. We all know CJ is going to get doubleteamed, it's a given, but with Tate around, the pressure is off on other players. A guy like Durham scares nobody.

And who is giving you excuses for Tate not producing?? Are you fn braindead? I fully expect 800-1000+ yards and at least 7-9 TDs from him, but if he doesn't quite get it I'm not calling it a failure after year one on a new team. Let's see what else he does on the field. Like helping with the running game and other players as well. It's not just about the numbers like you think it is. Besides, our fn RBs were our #2 and #3 receivers last year...think about it. I'll take anything Tate does at this point a success.

Put it this way. If Tate has lower numbers than Durham did last year then i'll consider it a failure. Which is 38 rec, 490 yds and 2 TDs.

"He's now owed $570,000. Durham, 26, appeared in all 16 games in 2013, starting 13 and catching 38 passes for 490 yards with two touchdowns. This was never by design, of course, as Durham was forced onto the first team by injury. He registered a whopping ten drops and ranked among the worst wideouts in the NFL in "catch rate." Durham is best suited as a No. 4 or 5 receiver"

That's how scary Durham is. lmao. Welcome to the D, Golden Tate!!! Great job, MAYHEW!!!

Durham was our #2....nice job mayhew!

Wendling was our starting safety 2 years ago....nice job mayhew!

Some douche named carey started a bunch of games...nice job mayhew!

We brought Kevin Smith back from his overnight shift at popeyes chicken when Best went down...nice job mayhew!

Peterman started multiple seasons here!

Fox was considered a starter after 4 years of being injured!

Mayhews 2nd round pick hasn't panned out to be a consistent starter for us since hes been here!

We traded away picks for the likes of Leshoure, Thomas and whitehead!

THATS how scary mayhew is....

so its MAyhews fault that Nate Burleson got injured????? who was on his way to a 800 yd season before the injury

Correct...its mayhews fault he has no depth at the receiver position. He still has no depth at the receiver position. If he doesn't draft a quality WR he will continue to have no depth at the receiver position.

Lmfao. Typical. You completely veer off topic when you have nothing.

Fauria, Bell, Waddle, Ross. Great job, Mayhew. :) See? It goes both ways.

its not off topic....you brought up the topic of depth...I was showing you we still have no depth. year after year after year theres examples of no depth. that's what happens when you suck ass at drafting.

Greenwood, green, mathis, isa abdul quddus, devin taylor, cj mosely, fauria, hilliard, Bell. Great depth. Great job Mayhew.

Austin, whitehead, Lewis and Hepburn might be good depth too. Unknown. If you say they suck, you are talking out of your ass

is cj mosely still on the team? Bell taylor and mosely are decent depth. Not sure how you consider fauria depth when hes only ever played inside the 20. 3 players on your team you cant point to as decent depth...means your depth sucks ass lol. Bad job mayhew.

"Austin, whitehead, Lewis and Hepburn might be good depth too" ...this list is pathetic and the fact you even mentioned them and depth in the same sentence means youre a complete idiot...
