Calm down ....

If that play late was not over-turned could anyone see the offense getting into the endzone anyway? I sure didn't.

On a side note the fans were loud as fuck today. Even on the visitor side where there was a ton of Lions fans - it was deafening.

I dunno, I would've said that about the previous 3 games too. But I think most of us are starting to wonder if that "offensive explosion" is going to come this season. They seem lost.

The Lions have 6 games left and only 2 of them are vs. good teams. There is no reason they shouldn't finish the season 4-2. My guess is the Lions get a wild card and have to play Dallas, SF, Seattle or Philly.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that the Lions will finish 8-8 until they prove me wrong.

Doesn't the WildCard 5th play the Division winner 4th? Wouldn't that mean they would most likely play at winner of NFC South...which looks very likely to be the 2nd team to be sub 500 to make the playoffs at this point. South winner will be lucky to be 8-8 by the looks of things.

And yes, fully aware that the previous team to go 7-9 and make playoffs was Seattle and they won their playoff game, so no...I'm not counting on Lions playing the South winner and actually winning the game, but it would be closer to 50-50 whereas if they win the North and get the Bye, against whom they would probably have only a 40% chance of winning because they are the Lions after all. The entire team gets busted for something and they end up having to forfeit remainder of the season...yep, could definitely see the Lions doing something stupid like that during the BYE.

A home playoff game was there for the taking and we just flubbed it up..

You are right. If they finish at 11-5 and get a W.C. they will likely play the NFC south winner...unless Seattle or SF win out which is VERY unlikely. SF has Seattle twice and AZ. Seattle has AZ twice, SF twice, Philly and St Louis. That is brutal!

I guess it depends on your expectations. We could have announced ourselves as part of the cream of the NFC today. Instead as of right now we are back to the old potential wildcard also ran.

Well put, Cheeno. I agree.

Personally I know I calmed down a lot from yesterday. The most frustrating part was that the defense played so well after the first 6 or so minutes that the offense just needed a pulse enough to put up 16-17 points and they couldn't even do that. All these high picks to give Stafford all these "weapons at his disposal", most of them come in to the game healthy so logic says that they would at least be on par with the 20pt per game average: nope.

Anyways it's annoying to see how close the team was to putting a stamp on being a legit contender and keeping the pack at bay (when it came to division ranking) and the offense couldn't even put up one touchdown. I'd like to think that Lombardi and Stafford get together and find a way to light it up sunday but I doubt it very seriously. Best thing would probably be Calvin sitting out with elbow issues and forcing Stafford to go through his progressions rather than thinking Calvin will bail him out all the time.

This D you speak of allowed Drew Stanton to throw for over 300 yards and two TD's. Next week Brady will torch this secondary. I hate to say it but I would not be surprised at all to see a second half collapse just like last year.

Bend don't break D. Run or throw for a ton, but don't let them score. I'll take that all day

This team isn't collapsing.

Maybe we can get hot, maybe. If that is okay then yes we are okay. And you know what, if I'm being honest, at the beginning of this season if you told me that's where we'd be I'd take it. Depressing though.

Potential Wildcard? We're in 1st place, man lol. The sky isn't falling. Nothing depressing about being 7-3. This team got royally dogfucked by the refs yesterday. Some bullshit was going down in that game....cmon. Time to win at least 4-5 more games.

what hasn't been talked about....this was the best Lombardi could come up with coming off a bye. that was it....poor performance vs Miami and looking clueless vs ari. guy cant gameplan....at all.

Lombardi is a joke. Or his offense is ...idk. Staff put up gaudy numbers in Linehan's offense, so i'm leaning more towards the OC as the problem. Yes, Staff needs to be better, but the decrease in stats and production is mindboggling. This needs to be addressed in the offseason.

That was a dogshit overturn on Ross punt return where Lions ended up on own 1 instead of midfield.

Why is it the Calvin rule was not applicable there? Guys momentum was carrying him into the end zone so he threw the ball back into field of play instead of it being a touch back. His "football move" was to throw it back into the field of play. Ross made a brilliant play there, but instead the NFL fucks over Detroit again.

And don't even get me started on how the ball was not spotted at the 9 but instead the call was confirmed so spot was at the 10 instead...but they sure had the spot at the 1st down marker at the end of the game, didn't they!

refs deserve a fucking negative point evaluation for their bullshit in this game, and that includes the fuckers back in HQ who fucked up the reviews.

Had to be the worst officiated game i have ever seen in my life, bro. We got fucked over THREE times!!! In huge situations. I'm serious when i say that they need to investigate those refs.

This team wins one more game, two tops. Bounced in first round if they even make it. Choke masters

cause he doesn't do anything to manage the game. arians is there in the refs face making his argument.....Caldwell is standing there like a dufus not talking to anyone. Theres no way youd be able to tell a HC that he had possession of the ball when the fucker threw the fucking ball away lol...that is the opposite of possession.

Ranting and raving like a lunatic doesn't always work either. I see your point though..

lol. Reasoning for this??

Oh, and i don't recall even seeing you during our 4 game winning streak, but after a loss, you show up and tell us the end of the world is near. lol. You're a real beaut, bud ...smdh

Unfortunately, Lombardi is going to get a 2nd year. What he needs to realize is his original plan for this offense isn't working......and its time to adjust things. We need a few quicker routes.....way to many vertical routes in this offense that take way too long to develop. Too many times Stafford had to dump down quickly because the pass rush was in his face.

We don't ever target calvin in the red zone anymore. Why? Has he asked Lombardi not to score TD's? I just can't figure it out. We don't target our 1st round TE.....or our 6'5" best jump ball WR in NFL history. Or our 6'4" #3 WR Fuller. Instead we run twice, gain 2 yards, and run a terrible screen pass and kick a FG.

All that mentioned is on Lombardi.

Stafford needs to get better too. He threw behind CJ on that deep ball. Missed a couple easy out patterns, too. He hasn't been much more than average lately.

My problem with the offense as a whole is how we never, EVER, seem to find a rhythm.....and its hard for me to pin that on Stafford because he has been such a rhythm QB his entire career. When he's hot, he GREAT......when he's not.....he's....well.....he's 2014 Matthew Stafford. I put a lot of that on Lombardi. Whenever we seem to get a drive going....we try a horribly designed screen and lose 4.....then run a draw on 2nd and 14 and gain 1.....then leave it up to Stafford to get 1st downs on 3rd and more than 10. No QB in the NFL is going to be that successful with the down and distances that the Lions consistently put themselves in.

6 games to make major adjustments......Lombardi and #9.

The more i let it sink in the more it pisses me off, I Just can't beleive how bad this offense is this year

But if you think about it has Caldwell ever had a good offense when his QB hasn't been Peyton manning?

Playoff Flacco. I want Caldwell to call the plays and Lombardi to mange the clock, time outs, replays. Each is as bad as the other at their respective jobs.

We are a half game up on GB but that week 17 game looms large. 10-6 is a potential wildcard not a guarantee. 11-5 should lock it up but it means beating either the Packers or Bears at home in addition to taking care of business against terrible teams. We all know how that turned out last year.
