Calvin must be out of his mind....right??

Tate needs a qb who will throw back shoulder jump balls. He doesnt really get seperation, just has great ball skills. How much he contributes will be directly corelated to how much staff trusts him. Other than those toss up type outs his biggest strength is the quick slant and staff makes me nervous on those throws because of his tendancy to throw high.

That doesn't give me warm and fuzzies.

Staff needs open guys to throw to..

Like i said and Calvin repeated, he knows he's doubleteamed majority of the game, but with the additions of some real playmakers, maybe just maybe he'll get some single coverage more than he has in the last few years. Not sure why nobody gets this......nevermind, i do. Stupidity

He doesn't need constant single coverage but if he can get it 20 snaps in a game then those are 20 snaps he can make big plays. You figure the offense is getting usually 80-90 snaps in a game and he was rarely getting single coverage so if its up to around 25% then that is a big deal. It only takes him one play to bust a big play.

Remember, in Seattle he was usually against the number 1 corner for the opposing team and the offensive schemes would always break down because Wilson holds the ball forever. Tate can make moves but in this offense they are going to play him to space and he will be that possession guy with the ability to break a big play. They can run bubble screens, quick slants, end arounds, and the rest of his route tree and Staff actually has the arm to convert tight windows to completions. This offense will be unstoppable IF and it is a big if based on history, but if Stafford can learn to take whats there and read through his progressions a little better than this offense will be elite. The thing that hurt us last year is Stafford lost his confidence. All of those drops and fumbles started to add up and then he started forcing big throws which put everyone else on their heels because he was launching rockets into tight spaces. CJ was dealing with a knee injury and really struggled last year holding onto the ball with his broken fingers. The rest of the receiving corps was abysmal. I really thought they should have thrown Fauria in there much more often. The guy has gifted hands and while he may run terrible routes and not be very fast we just needed him to catch the ball over smaller Cbs. He could have played outside and just gone up on high throws which would have increased our first downs and thus let us punt less at the end of the year and taken special teams out of it. But this year we have some guys that need to step up.

Trips right bubble screen to Tate with CJ and Ebron blocking should be a td. I'd even say that's our first score versus the Giants.

remember when Wilson extended all those plays by using his feet getting out of the pocket and allowing tate to get open? Remember that when Stafford flutters one inaccurately to Tate off his backfoot nowhere near him.

Short game is where Tate will excel. He's very elusive and his YAC proves that. Quick hitters and let Tate do the rest. Deceptive speed as well, should be nice on the occasional deep ball.
