Calvin ...wtf

Tape up your damn ankles and play..... I played 2 seasons of football and basketball with taped sprained ankles... These young kids theses days.... Back in the day we use tape and then stick-em then more tape...

Then before my season senior football season I had my left ankle reconstructed and my accent to the NFL and NBA were over :)

By all means sit him.... We need him down the stretch....

The odd thing about that is in New Orleans, they were known for spreading the ball around. I thought that was one of the bigger perks of him coming here.

Stafford has always spread the ball around just fine.

to calvin or a dump to a back or droptimus. Hes never utilized secondary receivers very effectively. If theres any good news so far this season its that hes finding Tate....which has been a great signing. But with that being said....that's ALL hes finding.

He found Burleson and Durham though. And nothing wrong with dumping off to your RBS or TES. But you're right, he finally has a LEGIT #2 in Tate and he's in a zone with him.

You guys act like Stafford is the only one who throws to his RBS and TES..lol.

Those RBs had 1,000 yards last year too. Production was there. Durham couldn't get open. He had good comp % to Burleson. Pettigrew has had productive years too. Now it's Tate turns and someone else has to step up.

He's found Ross, Collins, Ebron and Tate for TDs.

the part that seems to suffer the most is when calvin goes out...no one can make a big play. minus the tate play at the end of the buf game which should of been a game winner but a combination of dumb coaching, shitty ocord and awful kicker killed our dreams.

I agree, man. Remember, we do have two brand new co-ordinators on O and D. Austin is flowing and making better adjustments. I can't quite figure out what Lombardi is doing lol. The whole scheme seems to be a trainwreck. Bad OLine play, Stafford struggling a bit, RBS not producing, injuries ...idk. Gotta get this figured out now!! They lose this Sunday and they're in big trouble.

Spreading the ball around is one thing. What I meant was the offense in New Orleans (prior to this season) didn't seem to miss a beat when Colston/Moore/etc would miss time. When I lived in Tampa I saw quite a bit of the Saints and watching their offense was something else. It was common to see a stat after a TD drive where Brees threw to 5+ different receivers (successfully).

Despite Drew Brees' insane numbers, taking one of their WRs in fantasy football is always a huge risk because you never knew who was going to have the big day. In Detroit, that's never really the case, I've been hoping Lombardi would bring some of that here.

Brees averaged 275 YPG, 14 TDS (1.3 per game) and had 7 ints (.875 per game) in his first 8 games in the Payton offense in 2006. It takes time.

Brees average 246 YPG, 5 TDs and 2 picks through 5 in 2006 first five.

Stafford 281 YPG, 6 TDs and 2 rushing (1.6 per game) and 4 ints(.8 per game) through 5 so far.

Brees started 4-1. Stafford would be 4-1 with a kicker worth anything. Stafford actually doing better than how Brees started under this offense.

Probably a big difference coming to a completely new team & new offense vs. having the same team with a new offense. Not really comparing apples to apples.

Lots of new faces for Stafford. Tate, Ebron, Ross as a receiver. Plus it's a completley new offense for him. Has to completely re-adjust like Brees did. It's apples to apples.

You can't possibly believe that a QB that has played with mostly the same team his entire career changing to a new offense is similar to changing teams and trying to get familiar not only with the new offense but EVERY single player on the offense....can you? You aren't that stupid...are you?

I didn't rip on Stafford or Lombardi yet the excuse wagon came flying around the corner so fast. God damn, these kids running around the house in their Detroit Lions underoos are hilarious.

Brees under the old CBA. He had MORE practice time. It was easier for Brees. Plus Colston didn't get hurt for Brees either.

Stafford>Brees in new offense.

oh....you mean the rookie WR that was Drew Brees had...that guy?

Regardless of comparisons. We are in a new offense with a. Bunch of guys dropping including calvin. Can't wait till cj comes back.

That's what your argument has shriveled down to? That Brees had more PRACTICE TIME? Wow. Time to abandon thread.
