Cap Casualites

You do realize we drafted our 3 best linemen?

we got lucky on Waddle. and he has proven to be injury prone. we also need to replace Sims as well. beefing up the oline will help Stafford and the run game now that they cut Bush

get one starter via FA, one via the draft and reserves via the later half of the draft.

Overall need a #1 and #2 LG, #2 C, #2 RG and at least one OT

Talking Reiff, Warford and Swanson. Two third round picks by the way.

With Suh back, we could focus on the Oline in the draft. With Suh back long term we could get a free agent Oline too. With Suh back franchised, some restructures and Tulloch cut, we could get a free agent tackle/guard too. Lots of options. Franchising Suh doesn't limit us if we make restructures.

In 2013 the OL was rated well..it didn't help Matt. Matt is what he is, average to sub-average.

Suh>any other FAs. Suh is the top free agent right now.

But you could still make enough room to tag him and get one or two others. I've gone over how to do it many times without much future hurt. Especially with Bush's cap commitments for 2016 and 2017 off the books. Maybe Tulloch too.

We build through the draft. We got our free agents in Tate and Quin.

The Lions will not max out Staff & CJ, restructure Quinn and anyone else, then cut Tulloch and Jones...AND pay Suh 27 mil for having him one year..think about what you're saying

remember then we didn't have as many weapons for him. stafford isn't ever going to be manning or brady, but to put all the fault on him is delusional

stafford does need to realize though that he has more then just CJ as a weapon

Who's putting it all on him. Matt is average to below average. That's all I said. I also responded to your "fix OL, Matt gets better" theory by saying Matt didn't get better when the OL was good the previous year. He has plenty of weapons..he just isn't very good..

matt's problem is he relies too much one one guy. look at tate when CJ went down. he never really spread the ball around. yes he had few INTS but his yards were down. Detroit has potentially the deepest TE Corp in the NFL and he doesn't use them as much.

Didn't have the weapons when the Oline was good (Burleson hurt, lots of Durham, Pettigrew slow, Calvin hurt some). When he got the weapons (2014 finally with Calvin/Tate/Ebron), the Oline was bad and run game was terrible (plus a Bush injury). And had to adjust to a new scheme.

And for 2012 just because Mayhew used picks on weapons doesn't mean we had the weapons. Burleson hurt, Young 10 games then insane, Broyles hurt, Pettigrew hurt last 4. No run game.

Stafford had Oline protection and plenty of weapons one year. 2011. He had 41 TDs and 5,000 yards. Oline gets better, Calvin/Tate stay healthy, Stafford has 40 TDs again.

Ross and Fuller are unreliable.

Ebron was out when Calvin was out or limited. Hurt at Min and missed Saints, Falcons and Dolphins.

Stafford did just fine against Vikings, Saints, Falcons.

because he stinks.

Fauria out against Min, Saints, Falcons.

Pettigrew out against Falcons. Had 6 targets in the Saints game. Stafford threw to Thompson against the Saints. Good throw but then Thompson can't catch and the pass gets picked. Game winner to Fuller.

Can't throw to guys on the bench.

Do you people even watch the games.? You don't even know who is playing.

Should have used the TEs with Calvin out. The TEs were hurt out too. Oh and we went 3-0 with Calvin out and 1-1 in the limited games with the loss due to field goal kicking.

His combined stats for those three games were:

70/120 (58.33%), 809 yds, 5 TDs, 3 INT, 82.3 rating. So a bit below his season average. Those stats would put him at 26th in the league. That is not good. 2 of those three teams (NO and ATL) were the worst two defenses in the league.

I think you don't understand the QB level of this day and age. Yes if this was early 2000s, that would of been good. But in 2014 it is not good.
