Chris Ash fired

I can see a T-Shirt ...

"Last time we played you, we whipped you Ash so badly that you fired the Coach!"

Rutgers has good players in NJ, who don?t want to go there. With cause. It needs someone courageous enough to be the player others will follow.

Someone who will cause those other players to have a gut check?

So why not just say that you believe that 4 or 5 coaches that are currently coaching in the big 10 could be getting the same results as Harbaugh at Michigan or better?

You already mentioned Lovie and Ash.

Fleck?

Brohm?

Franklin?

Frost?

Tom Allen?

Locksley?

Sounds the old days where people criticized Carr and said that any coach in the country could win 8 or 9 games at Michigan every year. Well, we learned differently.

I'm not certain that these coaches could get the talent that Harbaugh has in the first place.

It's a pointless debate, because we'll never know the answer.

Same as or better than JH:

Fleck? Yes.

Brohm? Maybe.

Franklin? Yes.

Frost? Yes.

Tom Allen? Maybe.

Locksley? Maybe.

You have to be ****ing kidding... there is no way you can be serious.

Fleck is already getting Minnesota finally going. Program's been dormant forever.

Franklin has the same record as JH. So he basically already has proven it.

Frost has at least the potential, even though it's been slow going so far.

My maybe's are unsure, could happen, maybe not. Hard to say.

It's silly to say other coaches could not do what he's done, which is beat teams he is supposed to, and lose to teams he's not supposed to beat. A large chunk of coaches in the country can do the same shit he's done.

I'll give ya Franklin, since he's won a big 10 title recently. Other than, that, no. Nothing you say can convince me.

The failures of RichRod and Hoke are too fresh. There is absolutely nothing that tells us that the other names on that list are any better than those 2.

It's pretty much all conjecture anyways. I'm not going to passionately defend this stance.

It's just the fact that he's beaten the teams he's supposed to, lost to the teams he's supposed to. That means he's been pretty much doing what a lot of coaches in the country can.

Minnesota was 9-4 the year before Fleck took over. Under him, they've gone 5-7 (2-6 in conf) and 7-6 (3-5). They're 4-0 now, barely beating a bunch of shit opponents, and Purdue, after Purdue lost their starting QB and best receive early in the game.

NO THANKS.

Frost hasn't proven shit, and he acts like a real prick.

Franklin... has gone 7-6 (2-6), 7-6 (4-4), 11-3 (8-1), 11-2(7-2)
and 9-4(6-3) ... that's not better than Harbaugh, although he did beat OSU and win the conference (in a year we beat them 49-10...)

His winning % at PSU is 70%, Harbaugh's at Michigan is 73%.

Harbaugh took over a 5-7 team and went 10-3... and we know the rest.

And No one else has won the conference since he took over besides Franklin, Dantonio and Meyer.

but PJ Fleck did good at some MAC school!!!

Oh wait! so did Hoke...

yeah, Franklin did beat OSU once, but then again, so did Hoke...shit! Brohm beat OSU last season, but then again, barely made a bowl game.

And Purdue is 1-3 right now.

It's also weird that the same Michigan fans who agree OSU cheats, and the 2016 loss to them comes with an asterisk can whine that "Harbaugh can't beat OSU" in a different context.

I don't get where you are headed with this. There were a multitude of errors that lost them that game, not a 4th and 1 that was absolutely impossible to spot during the action. Don't have Speight throw from the end zone. Tackle someone on 3rd and 12 that you have pinned in the corner.

I just wonder when we will stop with the excuse making as a fan base. There's always SOMETHING to try and justify why this team can't win a big game or a championship.

This isn't excuse making... I'm not happy with the current situation, and I'm talking about one (1) game.

I think there are valid complaints about Harbaugh, but you aren't making any of them.

Yep. There are valid complaints about Harbaugh. No one is giving him a pass for that lousy game at UW last week.

That being said, in bizarro world, I guess you don't get credit for building a program to the point where that program is favored in most of the games. You don't get any credit whatsoever for winning the games that your program is favored in. You only get credit for an upset.

Franklin has lost to MSU the last 2 years. Yet, he's getting praise here.

Harbaugh had to totally rebuild the entire offensive side of the program, wide receivers, running backs, QB's, and the entire o-line. Fans go into depth every week about how horrible the depth is on the o-line and the d-line, yet they say, we should win all of these games.

You could make the same argument against OSU or for OSU. I mean, Meyer should've won all of those games and did. You don't get credit for winning games that you should win, right?

Yep, lots of valid things to complain about, but winning the games that you should win is not something that is valid to complain about.

I have already made them this last few weeks. Not going to rehash old material.

Ultimately, dude just needs to get it done. That's really it. The last few years has been a collection of what if's, excuses, complaints, etc.

OR, we can just accept that this program is a good program but not elite, and call it a day. I'm fine with that too.

beats the **** out of being a Chippewa/CMU fan, right?! Otherwise, what?s the point, huh?!

Rutgers paying Ash for two more years. So he's got that going for him. Which is nice.
