Chris Houston out?

He is proven worthy of a 1st round pick. He's a good receiver, good chain mover and good blocker. Scheffler stretches the field. There is nothing to upgrade at TE.

dude....its a pass play. 33 1st downs isnt much when youre catching that many passes. Especially since hes not catching screen passes very often. ive already given you my take on the whole 700 yards thing....so i wont rehash that lol. fine....i will.....its garbage.

Lmfao, thays funny right there. Feels like a battle of wits with an unarmed man when u say things like that.

Any R1 pick who consistently plays at average level equal to R3 or later guys is NOT worthy of the R1 pick. U act like no TEs block or catch as well as pett when reality is e ery TE is doing same or better. That is not proving the worth of the pick.

That type of thinking is why lions fail to make the super bowl.

Fitzgerald ceiling with a good qb, top 3.
Pettigrew ceiling with a good qb, 20th.

Another Mayhew failure.

Dude? One is a WR, the other is a TE. Fitz ceiling with a good QB, 3. CJ ceiling with a good QB, 1.

You can't compare a WR and a TE.

Everyone has their own opinion, Petti was worth a first round pick. You not agreeing with that doesn't mean its not true.

He's worth a first round pick because he's a good player. He's not average. I don't care where anyone else finds their tight ends. Pettigrew was worthy of a first round pick both at the time in 2009 and as of now he's still worthy. He comes out this year, he's the top TE taken and 1st round pick.

When you catch that many passes. Catching many passes is a good thing.

Lkp...u...r...fooling yourself, to be as polite as I possibly can.

There are TE who can stretch the field, Petti is not one of those. So 1st downs are irrelevant if the QB doesn't throw him the ball pass the marker. Nothing wrong with that, just needs to hang on the ball a bit better.

Pettigrew is a good tight end. Your just hating. The Lions aren't upgrading at tight end and don't need to upgrade at tight end. Fact

Pettigrew 9 drops. Witten 8. Graham 15. Gresham 8 Finley 9 Hernandez 10 Gronk 7. They all should work on their drops

When y do what u have always done...

Huge difference between upgrading at tight end and getting one that fits the scheme. The TE could have lower overall production totals yet prove a bigger asset by forcing safeties to watch them more which opens things mote for wrs, especially cj. Right now the slowest of slow lbs can cover pett and tackle him without safety help. He is the wrong te for the lions scheme. To not grasp that is being a fool.

Witten 9.4 YPC Pettigrew 9.6 YPC.

Yeah Pettigrew catching all those balls is a big problem

I agree. I'm more worried about him catching the ball, get up field and not fumble.

What scheme? You mean a TE who can go across the middle 8-12 yards down field? The Lions aren't all about 50 yard bombs. You need a middle guy, kind of like a slot TE so to speak.

Pettigrew does fit Linehan's two tight end scheme. You are the one unarmed.

ill agree at the time he was worth a first round pick. But i thought hed be this huge help in the run game....it hasnt happened. With the benefit of seeing years of what Pettigrew provides id pick Eifert over him.

scheffler was only used consistenly in a 2 TE scheme once we lost all our WRs. The way youre talking youre acting like weve always been a 2 TE set. Scheff was using very sparingly early in the year when we had our full WR roster. A pass catching TE fits better in any situation where the TE goes out on a route lol....which is a WHOLE lot of the time in our offense. He doesnt chip often....he doesnt stay in and block often. He runs 6 yards and turns around.

I never understood why Scheff got used so little. He needs to play more, much more.

Is it because he's not good at it or the coaches don't use him there. Just curious because I'm not sure..
