Is CJ restricted FA or unrestricted? Either way I don't think the Lions let him go, but it is very evident after this season, especially the first 5 and last 3 games, he is gonna get PAID.

Will he give a hometown discount? I think he recognizes the growth and future potential, and he isn't overly egotistical like Ocho, Moss, etc...but he will become the highest paid WR in the NFL, deservedly so. He'll be worth every penny, but how much $$$ will he actually get and how will that impact the Lions cap / ability to get DBs in FA???

ah, my bad...guess i was thinking about them restructuring or something or got my years crossed up

he will most likely get a new deal in the off season.

a Fitzgerald type deal.... 7 or 8 yrs 120+ , 50+ of it guaranteed.

cool, thanks! it would be great to lock him up for that many years!!!

i was worried before the season we wouldnt do well enough for him to sign another long term deal here. But with the year he had and all the young pieces we have on the offense hes got be exstatic to stay.

saw some quotes where he was saying they have some work to do but he's excited, so i'd be shocked if he wanted to test FA over signing new contract

he isn't going anywhere....he's under contract for 2012 and you always have the franchise option if it had to be used on him after that.

I think Calvin knows the Lions will franchise him so if the Lions offer him a big fair deal, he'll take it early this offseason and help the team freeing up some cap space to keep other guys.

This coming season he'll help out but he'll get paid. Top money too.

like I posted...he'll get a Fitzgerald type deal...7 or 8 years big signing bonus and roster bonuses up the ass.

Suh, Avril, CJ, Stafford, possibly Tulloch

They're gonna be reaching into the bargain bin at some positions down the road

Lewand better be a genius

20+ million against the 2012 cap....lol , ya I'd say he is getting a new restructured deal.

Yeah it happened to Fitz at end of his rookie deal. Last year of rookie deal he was getting ridicuouls money. 16 million per year makes him the highest paid WR and actually saves cap space from the 22 million ridiculous number. One of Tulloch or Avril will stay, one will be gone along with Eric Wrigt, my guess is Avril. And if Backus comes back it better be on a really cheap one year deal. Also Shaun Hill , Hilliard and Logan are free agents this year.

And by the way 2012 free agents. Delmas,Levy,Sammie Lee Hill, Lo Jack Corey Williams(gone if not traded this offseason),Gosder,Justin Durant, Chris Houston. KVB and Burleson making big money(one maybe both gone). Mayhew better draft real well the next 2 drafts. Only one of Tulloch or Avril stays and Lions better be smart with that contract and Calvin must get a long term deal that is somewhat cap friendly in 2012 and 2013. Suh and Staffords number grows too. Millen and the old CBA screwed us one last time.

Yeah and if they Franchise him it's like 22 million and change against the cap. He'll get a new deal - he has to if they hope to keep anybody, + do anything in Free Agency

Article on CJ money I'm sure some of you have already read it but for those that haven't.

I don't think any of the options for the lions are good ones. They are going to have to deal with Stafford and Suh in a 2 years. There is no way they can keep all three.
