CJ Mosely suspended from team

So Lions suspend him for 2 weeks on a Saturday. 8 days later he is practicing. I guess 8 days = 2 weeks when there is an injury.

Who cares. Didn't hurt anyone in his room. too harsh a punishment. Suspended 2 game checks. Pointless to hold him out of practice if he can play in the game due to the CBA ruels.

Great move to bring him back.

sends two messages to the players

1) Lions will suspend you without pay for 2 weeks but you still have to work / practice if they need you
2) Lions don't stick to their guns when it comes to handing out suspensions if it benefits them

For a team that has lacked discipline over the past 4 years...the last thing you want to do is lighten up a penalty. It sends the wrong message.

Ultimately, Mosley lost thousands of dollars for one incidence of smoking pot. Perhaps the punishment appears lax now, but it also at least sends a message that the team is going to bust you if you do something stupid. Benign offense, benign punishment. It's not like the team tried to bring back a child abuser, or cover up for someone beating their wife.

It was not lax. It was two game checks. It was very harsh. The players understand. Caldwell said he talked to them about it. Great coach.

Stop making shit up to hate about.

Claiming what? Faulty smoke alarms? Same ol lions. Good job caldwell.

Has nothing to do with Caldwell. Are you dense? It's already been explained to you. The team couldn't suspend him for more than 2 weeks, Mosely files a grievance, now Mosely comes back.

that has nothing to do with my post. good job tony. I was referring to our players are still thugs and instead of prepping for a game they are smoking sooooooo much pot that they set off smoke alarms in hotel rooms. same ol lions. nice job Caldwell.

I agree that Mosely is an idiot, but blaming the coach is moronic. At least 70-80% of these guys smoke dope. Get a grip.....he paid for his stupidity.

not so much that im blaming Caldwell....but im sick of how every story about the lions is that were different now cause "were buying into caldwells system." Dude, Caldwell has very little to do with the way were winning and the same shit weve seen from previous management keep creeping up. nothing has changed. To date the ONNNNNNNLLLLLY reason were winning is because of Austin. Lombardi, Stafford and Caldwell have sucked.

But all the players on the team have praised Caldwell. That means nothing to you? Of course it does lol. Agsin, it's a different mindset under Caldwell. You seriously have issues and you're so one dimensional on so many different situations. "Austin is the ONLY reason why we're winning". That's so fucking dumb, it doesn't even dignify a response...lol.

whos praising Caldwell? Suh certainly isn't....

I haven't heard any of this praise...maybe because im not local anymore...

players praised Gunther too...

Stafford praised Schwartz.

players praise doesn't mean much to me....

What did you expect to happen, you schmuck? He missed out on 2 game cheques.

If they suspend him for 2 weeks I expect him to be suspended for 2 weeks. No team activities including practice. When the 2 weeks are up he is allowed to come back to the team.

I have heard or read a bunch of players talk up Caldwell. Most recently? Reggie Bush on the NFLN. Taljing about the championship mentality and believing in their coaches approach to certain situations. Caldwell is not Schwartz. They actually respect Caldwell.

Go write a letter to the NFLPA then. Voice your displeasure. Geezus Krist lol

This is a team that has lacked discipline. They had a player who broke some rules and they thought it was appropriate to suspend him for 2 weeks. Then the organization changes the suspension because they need him back. Nice message that sends....same old Lions.

As far as him smoking weed and everybody doing it...I really don't care about that. I would have been fine with a one week suspension or even just benching him for a game and a fine. Just stick to the punishment you hand out...don't change the punishment because it fits your needs at the time.

I thought Mosely grieved the suspension. Therefore, reducing his suspension? Not sure how it all works. And this team has been angelic under Caldwell "so far". Put that SOL bullshit to rest for now...

Impossible to suspend him for this game (CBA only allows 2 game checks and you get a game check for the bye week). Penalty was too harsh not too lenient. First offense weed is typically no suspension. But he got a game and two game checks. Great discipline by Caldwell.

And I'm glad Mosley is back.

Praises happen all the time, for good and bad coaches. That's FACT.
