Also: saying goodbye to Glover Quin.

Did you know that the Pride of Detroit PODcast is eternal and will echo into infinity long after you and I are gone and but dust? Reader it?s true, as long as the internet remains and someone keeps these audio files on a storage device. Digital media thrives eternal.

With that in mind, breathe in our conversations. We?re going to talk to you and your eternal form now about edge rushers in free agency, in this the year 2019, and which ones will be the best fit for the Detroit Lions. Sure, the Trey Flowers picture at the top is nice, but can the Lions stand out among so many suitors? Who else is out there?

We also say goodbye to Glover Quin, who was awesome and his presence is already missed. You know how it goes on PODcast, we got everything you need.

This week on the PODcast:
Glover Quin leaves town, and we?re left to ponder his legacy.
We also have to ponder how the Lions fill the massive hole his departure leaves in the secondary, especially with a lack of free safeties in free agency.

Is Tracy Walker the future for the position? Could we see a safety taken in the draft? We discuss why this safety class might not be very good.

Breaking down the best defensive ends and edge rushers you could see in this free agency period?and more importantly, which ones won?t just get tagged by their respective teams.

What happens if the Lions have to bring back Ezekiel Ansah?

Detroit Lions Podcast Episode 199 ? Lions Free Agency ft. Justin Rogers. 71 minutes.

In this episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Case bring the latest news on Matthew Stafford trade rumors and have a *long* chat with Detroit News beat writer and Kyle Meinke owner, Justin Rogers about Lions free agency.

Detroit Lions Podcast Needs You!
Things start off once again with us asking for your input. We make a quick ask of our listeners to go to http://DetroitLionsPodcast.com/2019-listener-survey and complete a quick survey about the show. This survey is a great way to give feedback and be hears and will help us to ensure the show is the very best it can be. We don?t ask for any personal information, we have no way of contacting you, bothering you, or selling your info. We just want your input so we can be sure that we are hitting all of the marks in bringing you the best show possible.

From there we kick off our show with some talk about the Matthew Stafford trade rumors surrounding the team. As usual, the Detroit Lions have some loony unsubstantiated rumors swirling around them. This must be a gas-lighting sociology experiment, right? Now the rumor focuses on a trade of Matthew Stafford to the Dallas Cowboys. It has all the right threads being pulled to make it interesting. Just the right amount of plausibility. Its bunk. We?ll give a few reasons why, but just know, its bunk. There are a few more rumors being bandied about that we?ll break down with the Riz next week. You?ll love/hate that episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, we promise.

We also spend some time talking about the release of Glover Quinn. He?s a player that the team, fans, and the city as a whole will miss. A high quality player, and high character guy. Unfortunately, its one of the realities to contend with. Age takes a little away from us every year and unfortunately, one of our all-time favs in Glover is the latest victim.

Justin Rogers Joins The Detroit Lions Podcast.
We spend over 3/4 of the next hour talking with Detroit Lions beat writer, Justin Rogers. In this in-depth look at free agency, we have a lot of fun (mostly at Case?s expense) talking about how the Lions might fill their biggest needs. We take a look at Trey Flowers, Darqueze Dennard, Morris Claiborne, and a whole lot more. To be fair the Detroit Lions Podcast takes Justin into the draft a little bit before he promises to come back and discuss that on a show in the near future.

We also talk trades, coaching moves, differences he?s seeing in the coaching staff, and what has happened in the press room as its changed from the ?Dungeon of Doom? in Caldwell?s era to where it is today. Justin brings a lot of candor to this situation and helps us to understand it from both sides of the podium.
